Inclusion Criteria: All pregnant women in active phase of labour (\>5cm cervical dilatation) and gestational age of 37 weeks to 41 completed weeks (as assessed on LMP). Previous no caesarean section. Age 18-40 years. Both primiparous and multiparous. Both booked and unbooked. Exclusion Criteria: Women with chronic hypertension (BP \>140/90 mmHg on 2 consecutive occasions). Pregnancy induced Hypertension: women with no history of hypertension (blood pressure \>140/90 mmHg on 2 consecutive occasions) and diagnosed in pregnancy. Gestational Diabetes mellitus: women with no history of diabetes mellitus (FBS \>110 mg/dl on 2 consecutive occasions) and diagnosed in pregnancy. Women who had a caesarean section in the latent phase of labour.
