Digital Dietary Intervention for Patients Receiving GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Therapy
Sponsor: Kazakh Academy of Nutrition
Summary
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether the NutriSteppe mobile application can improve blood sugar control and other health measures in adults with type 2 diabetes, obesity, or overweight with related health conditions. All participants are already receiving semaglutide prescribed by their treating physician outside the study. The main question is: Does using NutriSteppe for 12 weeks improve glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), a measure of average blood sugar, compared with routine medical care alone? Researchers will randomly assign 120 participants to one of two groups. One group will receive routine medical care and general lifestyle advice. The other group will receive the same care and use the NutriSteppe application for personalized dietary support. Participants will: * Attend study visits at the start of the study and at weeks 4, 8, and 12 * Have measurements of body weight, waist size, blood pressure, and blood test results * Continue medications prescribed by their treating physician * Use the NutriSteppe application if assigned to the intervention group * Report any health problems during the study The study will also examine changes in body weight, waist size, blood sugar, blood fats, blood pressure, diet quality, and quality of life. A subgroup of 20 participants will use a continuous glucose monitor twice during the study.
