The Use of Advanced Platelet-rich Fibrin in Mandibular Third Molar Surgery

Sponsor: University of Copenhagen

View on ClinicalTrials.gov

Summary

The purpose of the study is to quantify the levels of platelets and inflammatory markers in A-PRF from a standard venous whole blood sample, and to evaluate the effect of A-PRF on postoperative discomfort and complications following surgical removal of M3. The study will be prospective and include 60 patients referred to Specialtandlægerne Vestergade for surgical removal of one M3. It is expected that the study will contribute with important information on the impact of A-PRF on postoperative sequelae and complications following surgical removal of mandibular third molars.
