Summary
This study evaluates the effect of the BATHE therapeutic interview technique on treatment adherence and blood pressure control in primary care hypertension patients. Hypertension patients aged 18-80 years were randomly assigned to an intervention or control group. The intervention group received the structured BATHE communication technique during clinical visits, while the control group received standard primary care counseling on drug adherence and lifestyle changes. Patients were followed for 6 months (visits at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months). Primary outcomes assessed include treatment adherence scores, drug compliance, and blood pressure levels.

BATHE Therapeutic Interview Technique
A brief psychotherapeutic consultation tool consisting of 5 steps: Background, Affect, Troubling, Handling, and Empathy, applied during clinical visits to enhance treatment adherence and patient self-efficacy.
