Clinical Evaluation of Immediate Dental Implants in Very Elderly Patients.

Sponsor: Takane Dental Clinic

View on ClinicalTrials.gov

Summary

Background: In recent years, dental implants have become a popular and effective option for replacing missing teeth, even in older adults. However, there is still limited research on implant treatments in patients aged 80 and older. Study Details: In this study, we evaluated an 80+ year-old patient who requested dental implants after tooth extraction. The treatment involved placing an implant immediately after tooth removal, combined with bone grafting materials (Bio-Oss®) and cell-based regenerative therapy (Class III regenerative medicine). The patient continues to attend routine follow-up visits. Goal: Because dental implants can greatly improve quality of life for elderly individuals, the goal of this study is to clinically evaluate the safety and effectiveness of implant therapy combined with regenerative medicine in patients aged 80 and older.

Official title: Clinical Evaluation of Immediate Implant Placement Following Tooth Extraction in Elderly Patients Around the Age of 80.
