Assessment of Volumetric Changes After Socket Preservation in the Anterior Region Using Sticky Dentin Versus Sticky Bone
Sponsor: October University for Modern Sciences and Arts
Summary
After tooth extraction the alveolar ridge undergoes an unescapable physiological phase of remodeling. The major changes occur during the first three months of healing with a reduction in the dimension of the socket of about 11%-22% vertical bone loss and 29%-63% horizontal bone loss. Such dimensional change will compromise prosthetic replacement in the future, so we make alveolar ridge preservation in order to future complications

sticky dentin group
The autogenous demineralized dentin is used in socket preservation. as it shares a similar composition to the bone. Demineralized dentin is an osteoinductive and osteoconductive material, making it an alternative to xenograft in socket preservation. The addition of the PRF helps in healing and pain reduction. Xenograft is an osteoconductive material, and a previous study showed a reduction in dimensional change following tooth extraction. The effect of the sticky dentin on the bone and soft tissue is measured using the CBCT, intraoral scanner, and periodontal probe.
sticky bone
Socket preservation using sticky dentin (Xenograft + I-PRF) after tooth extraction.
