Sponsor: Bartın Unıversity

View on ClinicalTrials.gov

Summary

This randomized controlled study evaluated the effects of a distant Reiki intervention on stress coping, psychological hardiness, and tranquility among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. A total of 68 ICU nurses were randomly assigned to either an intervention group or a control group. Participants in the intervention group received a 15-minute distant Reiki session once daily for four consecutive weeks, while participants in the control group continued their usual daily routines without receiving the Reiki intervention. Stress coping, psychological hardiness, and tranquility were assessed at baseline and after the four-week intervention period using validated measurement instruments. In addition, qualitative interviews were conducted with participants in the intervention group to explore their experiences and perceptions of the distant Reiki intervention. The study aimed to determine whether distant Reiki could influence psychological outcomes among ICU nurses and to provide additional insight into participants' experiences with the intervention.
