Sponsor: Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan

View on ClinicalTrials.gov

Summary

Adolescent pregnancy can present health challenges for both mothers and their babies. Pregnant adolescents who are experiencing their first pregnancy may need additional support to develop healthy practices, manage pregnancy-related concerns, and prepare for childbirth and motherhood. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a digital health coaching self-management program designed to support healthy pregnancy practices and improve pregnancy outcomes among primiparous pregnant adolescents. The study will include 70 pregnant adolescents receiving care at the obstetrics outpatient clinics of Tanta University Hospital, Tanta General Hospital, and El-Mabara Hospital. Participants will be assigned to either an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group will receive a digital health coaching self-management program in addition to routine antenatal care, while the control group will receive routine antenatal care alone. The program will provide health education and self-management guidance through digital health coaching to encourage healthy pregnancy behaviors, improve knowledge and attitudes toward pregnancy and motherhood, and support appropriate self-care. Researchers will assess participants' knowledge, attitudes, healthy pregnancy practices, and pregnancy outcomes using structured questionnaires and pregnancy outcome assessments. The study findings may help healthcare providers identify ways to use digital health coaching to support pregnant adolescents and promote healthy pregnancy practices and maternal and neonatal health.
