Patterns of Rehabilitation After Spinal Cord Injury
Sponsor: Gaziler Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Education and Research Hospital
Summary
Patients with spinal cord injuries typically achieve a level of independence that allows them to return to their daily lives through an acute-phase rehabilitation program. However, in our country, it has been observed that many patients continue to make multiple hospital visits for rehabilitation purposes even in the later stages following a spinal cord injury, resulting in prolonged hospital stays. This situation negatively affects both the patients' social lives and their financial situations. Additionally, it places a burden on rehabilitation centers. The aim of this study is to examine the length of hospital stays and the time it takes for patients to return to their daily lives as they continue rehabilitation following a spinal cord injury.
