French Contrast Versus Oregon Circuit Training in Competitive Football Players
Sponsor: Superior University
Summary
This randomized, two-arm, parallel-group clinical trial is designed to compare French Contrast Training (FCT) with Oregon Circuit Training (OCT) for improving explosive strength, lower-limb power, and agility in competitive football players aged 16 to 25 years. Twenty-six participants are planned. Both interventions are delivered three times per week for 8 weeks in approximately 45-minute supervised sessions. Outcomes are assessed at baseline and after the 8-week intervention using vertical jump height, squat one-repetition maximum, and the Agility T-test.

Interventions
French Contrast Training
A supervised 8-week strength-and-power training programme delivered three times per week. Each approximately 45-minute session includes dynamic warm-up, a 30-minute French contrast complex combining heavy resistance and plyometric/power exercises, and cool-down. The programme is progressively adjusted according to performance and tolerance.
Oregon Circuit Training
A supervised 8-week circuit-based conditioning programme delivered three times per week. Each approximately 45-minute session includes warm-up, a 30-minute multi-station circuit targeting strength, endurance, agility, and coordination, and cool-down. Work intervals are approximately 30 to 45 seconds with 15 to 30 seconds of rest, and training load is progressively increased.
