Uterine-Angle Clamping During Delayed Cord Clamping at Cesarean Delivery
Sponsor: Baskent University
Summary
This randomized controlled study evaluated whether temporary clamping of the lateral angles of the uterine incision during a standardized 60-second delayed umbilical cord-clamping period reduces maternal blood loss in women undergoing planned term cesarean delivery. Participants were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to uterine-angle clamping or control. Both groups underwent 60-second delayed cord clamping. Maternal blood loss was assessed using calculated estimated blood loss based on preoperative and 24-hour postoperative hematocrit values.
