The Study is Investigating the Effectiveness of the Traditional Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy Using the Islamic Workbook for Religious Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in Turkish Adults Who Suffer From Scrupulosity
Sponsor: Ibn Haldun University
Summary
The goal of the clinical trial is to determine whether the Islamic Workbook of Scrupulosity treats scrupulosity in adults. The main question is whether patients show fewer scrupulosity symptoms after receiving the workbook treatment, as measured by various self-report scales. Participants will be divided into three groups; the first group will receive the intervention after the baseline measurement. The second group will receive treatment 6 weeks after baseline. The last group will serve as a control group. The groups will be randomly assigned. All groups will have symptoms measured at baseline, 6 weeks after baseline, and 12 weeks after baseline.

Islamically integrated cognitive behavioral intervention
This intervention includes Islamically integrated psychoeducation for scrupulosity. We also included Islamically integrated cognitive and behavioral interventions. The cognitive intervention included spirituality as part of a healthy psyche. In addition to cognitive and behavioral interventions, we included emotional interventions, especially the two-chair technique. We also included spiritual interventions such as prayers, dhikrs, and expressing gratitude to God.
