Psychological Support for Chronic Migraine Patients Treated With Anti-CGRP (Anti-Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide ) Monoclonal Antibodies
Sponsor: Central Hospital, Nancy, France
Summary
Chronic migraine is a disabling neurological condition that can significantly affect quality of life, emotional well-being, social participation, and daily functioning. Although anti-CGRP monoclonal antibodies have substantially improved migraine management for many patients, little is known about the psychological experiences and adjustment processes associated with these treatments. This observational study aims to explore the psychological adaptation of adults with chronic migraine treated with anti-CGRP monoclonal antibodies. Participants will complete standardized questionnaires assessing migraine-related disability, headache impact, anxiety and depressive symptoms, quality of life, and treatment experiences at treatment initiation and after 12 months of follow-up. Psychological interviews will also be conducted to explore patients' perceptions, coping strategies, and lived experiences of treatment. The study seeks to identify factors associated with positive or negative psychological adaptation to treatment and to better understand patients' emotional experiences throughout their care pathway. The findings may contribute to the development of tailored psychological support interventions for individuals living with chronic migraine.
