Clinical Characteristics of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth in Individuals With Abdominal Bloating/Distention

Abdominal bloating/distention represents a prevalent clinical manifestation characterized by an unclear etiology and pathogenesis. This symptomatology is frequently observed in various conditions, including small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). The utilization of the breath test as a non-invasive diagnostic approach has become widespread in recent years for identifying SIBO. In this study, the prevalence of SIBO irregularities in individuals presenting with abdominal bloating/distention was ascertained through the implementation of the breath test. Furthermore, the correlation between abdominal bloating/distention and SIBO was analysed to enhance the elucidation of the underlying etiology of abdominal bloating/distention. These findings aim to offer valuable insights for refining clinical comprehension and strategies related to the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal bloating/distention.

Galactol® Enzyme Supplement for Post-Prandial Abdominal Bloating in Irritable Bowel Syndrome

This multicenter, randomized, controlled clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a dietary supplement containing a combination of digestive enzymes (alpha-galactosidase, beta-galactosidase, and prolyl-endopeptidase) in reducing post-prandial abdominal bloating in adults diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Participants will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either the enzyme supplement (Galactol®) in addition to a diet excluding foods high in FODMAPs, or the diet alone. The intervention will be administered for 14 days. The primary objective is to assess the change in the intensity of post-prandial abdominal bloating measured using a visual analogue scale (VAS). Secondary outcomes include changes in intestinal symptoms, stool consistency, bowel movement frequency, episodes of diarrhea, global gastrointestinal well-being, and treatment tolerability. The results of this study will provide evidence regarding the potential role of enzyme supplementation in reducing gastrointestinal symptoms associated with food-related fermentation in patients with IBS.

A Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Effects of a Supplement on Symptoms Associated With Liver and Digestive Health

This study will evaluate the effects of Edenboost Alpha Cleanse, a dietary supplement, on symptoms associated with liver and digestive health. The study is a single-arm, open-label trial in which all 40 enrolled participants will use the test product daily for 12 weeks. Participants will complete questionnaires at Baseline, Week 4, Week 8, and Week 12, and will undergo blood testing (hepatic function panel) at Baseline and Week 12. Primary outcomes focus on changes in liver function biomarkers, while secondary outcomes capture participants' self-reported experiences of energy levels, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, and nausea.
