PICU-related Sleep and Circadian Dysregulation Pilot Study
A single center pilot trial investigating the feasibility of using actigraphy and salivary melatonin levels to measure the sleep and circadian rhythm of critically ill children aged 3 to 6 years old. This study will also measure the feasibility of providing daytime light exposure as well as restricting all provided nutrition to during daytime hours.

Nasopharyngeal Carriage of S. Pneumoniae
This nasopharyngeal (NP) carriage surveillance study was requested by the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products as a post-licensing commitment to determine whether the use of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) including 7 then 13 valents (introduced in 2001 and 2010, respectively) caused a shift in the distribution of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes in children with acute otitis media and modified the resistance of this bacterial species to antibiotics.

The Effect of Listening to Music During Mobilization on Pain and Fear in Children Undergoing Abdominal Surgery
This research is designed to improve the mobilization process in children aged 4-6 years undergoing abdominal surgery. The main objective of the study is to determine the effect of music listening on pain and fear levels in children who are standing up for the first time after surgery using a randomized controlled experimental method. This study, to be conducted at the Pediatric Surgery Department of Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, will involve a total of 74 children (37 in the study group and 37 in the control group) between January 2026 and November 2026. According to the research protocol, children in the study group will listen to music of their own choosing during mobilization, while children in the control group will receive routine parental support from the clinic. During the data collection process, children's pain levels will be recorded using the Wong-Baker Pain Scale, and their fear levels using the Child Fear Scale, along with assessments from the child, parent, and nurse. Vital signs such as heart rate and respiratory rate will also be monitored before and after the procedure. This study aims to facilitate early mobilization in children and provide evidence as an effective non-pharmacological method in nursing care.

Effect of Mat Pilates on Pain and Postural Alignment in School Going Children With Upper Crossed Syndrome.
This randomized control clinical Trial is to evaluate the effect of mat Pilates on postural alignment and pain levels in school-going children with Upper Crossed Syndrome. The study will focus on assessing changes in head, neck, and shoulder alignment, as well as any reduction in musculoskeletal discomfort following a structured Pilates intervention in children of age 8-16.This clinical Trial will be in two groups A) Intervention group B) Control Group. From a total of 28 Participants , 14 will be performing Mat pilates and routine Physical Therapy(Group A) while the other 14 will be performing just routine Physical Therapy exercises (Group B). Data Analysis will be done on Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26.00.

The Effect of Virtual Reality and Buzzy Application on Pain, Fear and Anxiety During Prick Test in Children
Allergy is a hypersensitivity reaction to a triggering agent. Tests used in allergy are divided into two: in vivo and in vitro. Among the in vivo tests routinely used, epidermal, intradermal and patch tests are used, and the most commonly used is the skin prick test. In order to prevent the negative effects of pain, it is important to be informed about the appropriate approach to children, newborns and babies, and effective pain management, according to their cognitive development levels. Pain management in children should be done appropriately with accurate assessment tools. This will increase the quality of life, reduce hospitalizations, shorten the length of hospital stay and reduce costs. Pain experiences experienced during childhood will cause later pain experiences to be perceived as more severe and cause anxiety and fear. Anxiety is a psychological, physiological and behavioral state that develops in response to a perceived or existing threat. Anxiety, which can also be expressed as worry or anxiety, is a emotional state that can occur in various ways, such as restlessness, tension, easy fatigue, lack of concentration, muscle tension, and sleep disturbance, in which autonomic and somatic symptoms occur in the body, without any reason. Virtual reality provides multi-sensory information as children focus on the simulated world. Virtual reality, one of the cognitive methods; It can create an environment where three-dimensional pictures or animations created on the computer can interact in people's minds. It is also defined as a distraction method created by software, which creates the feeling that users are in the environment even though they are not in the real environment, and can interact with people in the environment. When all these studies were examined, no three-group study was found comparing a distracting method with a physical method for the 7-10 age group. Additionally, there is a study that used virtual reality in the prick test, but there is no method that has been proven to be superior to virtual reality. In this study, it will be investigated whether virtual reality and buzzy applications have a reducing effect on pain, fear and anxiety compared to the control group. Virtual reality and buzzy techniques will also be compared with each other. Since no such study has been found in the literature, it is thought to contribute to the field.

Vestibular and Postural Function in Children Suspected of Balance Disorders
The goal of this prospective cohort study is to investigate the vestibular function in children suspected of balance disorders, and to follow up on their balance progressions after rehabilitation. The main hypothesis of the study is that delayed gross motor development and symptoms of dizziness and balance problems in some children are caused by vestibular dysfunction. The investigators expect that early detection and rehabilitation by a physiotherapist will improve the balance ability for the child. The participants will be children in the age of 6 months to 10 years with delayed gross motor development and/or with dizziness/balance problems. The test protocol consists of questionnaires, hearing screening and vestibular and postural assessments.

A Novel Program Using Ride-on Toys to Improve Upper Extremity Function in Children With Hemiplegia
The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility and utility of 2 types of play-based training programs co-delivered by researchers and caregivers within home/community settings to promote arm function among 3-to-8-year-old children with hemiplegia. Specifically, investigators will assess the feasibility of implementation and acceptance/satisfaction associated with a researcher-caregiver co-delivered community-based training program involving either joystick-operated powered ride-on toys (SPEED training) or creative upper extremity training (CRAFT training). The investigators will also compare the effects of these 2 types of training programs on children's arm motor function and spontaneous use of their affected arm during daily activities.

Early Detection of Long-term Diabetic Complications in Children and Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes
Aims: To investigate early markers of long-term diabetic complications and the association to an extended glucose metabolic profile comprising glucose control (current and past), glucose variability and insulin sensitivity in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Background: Most Danish children and adolescents with T1D do not achieve their metabolic target and are at increased risk of developing long-term diabetic complications, reducing their life expectancy and increase their morbidity rate. Hence, improved metabolic control, a better understanding of what optimal metabolic control means, combined with detailed monitoring of the first markers of long-term complications and their reversibility or lack thereof are needed. Methods: A prospectivel study of 400 children, aged 6-18 years old, with T1D\>12 months. Early markers of long-term diabetic complications will be investigated as arterial stiffness, nerve dysfunction and nephropathy. Data on T1D onset, duration, treatment modality, self-monitoring-blood-glucose profiles, growth, weight, and pubertal status will be collected. Blood sampling will include routine tests and markers of glucose, lipid, bone, and gastrointestinal metabolism. DXA-scan, Fibroscan, bone-age, eye-examination and physical activity will be measured. Data on retrospective glucose- and lipid-profiles will be collected. The children will be offered a followup every 5 years for the next two decades. Perspectives: This study provides novel insight into the frequency of early markers of long-term diabetic complications and its association to the interplay of the pancreas, adipose, gastrointestinal and bone metabolic axis. Which can assist in identifying subgroups of children and adolescents requiring earlier in-depth screening for early markers of long-term diabetic complications, for putative interventions for prevention, hence reducing morbidity and mortality in T1D.

VR Based Simulation in the Preparation of Children for MRI - MRVR
The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate whether a virtual reality based preparation method can efficiently decrease the proportion of children requiring general anesthesia during MRI examinations. Participants will take part in a virtual reality environment resembling an MRI before their scheduled MRI examination. Researchers will compare these children to usual care and a booklet based preparation method to see if less children need anesthesia for completing the MRI examination.

COMT and OPRM1 Polymorphisms and Their Effect on Post-Operative Pain in Children
The goal of this observational study is to investigate whether the A118G single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the mu-opioid receptor1(OPRM1) and Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) SNPs influence postoperative pain scores in children between the ages of 8 and 18 undergoing orthopedic, abdominal, thoracic, and plastic surgeries. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer \[is\]: Do OPRM1 and COMT SNPs influence postoperative pain scores in children between the ages of 8 and 18 undergoing orthopedic, abdominal, thoracic, and plastic surgeries? Participants will be assessed for their pain scores, sedation level, the amount of postoperative analgesics received, duration of their stay in the post-anesthesia care unit, and toxicity.

Cardiometabolic Function in Offspring, Mother and Placenta After Assisted Reproductive Technology
The overall objective is to establish the first-of-its-kind longitudinal cohort of pregnant women, biological fathers/partners and offspring from pregnancies achieved by frozen embryo transfer (FET), fresh-embryo transfer (fresh ET) and naturally conceived (NC) to investigate maternal cardiometabolic profiles, fetal growth patterns and placental function during pregnancy as well as metabolic and endocrine health in the offspring. Additionally, the aim is to explore genetic and epigenetic patterns in placenta, fetus and parents. As secondary objectives, the investigator group will examine telomere length and minipuberty hormones in children born after FET, fresh-ET and NC.
