Color Stability and Fluorescence Properties of Two Aligner Attachment Composites

This split mouth study aims to evaluate whether 2 different composite materials used for making clear aligner attachments change color over time and do they have different fluorescent characteristics when illuminated with ultraviolet light. While bonding the attachments, a coin toss will determine which composite resin will be used for upper right segment. The remaining quadrants will be bonded with alternating composite resin. After bonding extraoral photographs under ultraviolet light with cheek retractors will be taken for fluorescence evaluation. Intraoral scans will be performed immediately after bonding and every two months up to six months for evaluating color change.

Clinical Evaluation of Customized Attachment Composites in Clear Aligner Therapy

This prospective observational clinical study aims to evaluate the three-dimensional surface wear and clinical survival of orthodontic attachments fabricated with customized composite materials used in clear aligner therapy. Attachments play a critical role in the biomechanical efficiency of aligner treatment by facilitating planned tooth movements. However, the mechanical and surface properties of the composites used for attachment fabrication may affect their wear behavior and long-term stability. In this study, four different composite materials will be tested using a split-mouth design in patients treated with clear aligners. Each quadrant will receive a different composite, including both customized and universal types. All attachments will be fabricated using standardized digital templates and bonded under identical clinical conditions. Surface wear will be evaluated using three-dimensional optical scanning and metrology software at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. Lost attachments will be replaced and recorded but excluded from wear analysis. The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the optimal material selection for clear aligner attachments, improving treatment accuracy and clinical durability.

NCT07812220

Surface Wear of Clear Aligner Attachment Composites

The aim of this study is to investigate the amount of surface wear that may occur during treatment with different composite materials used for clear aligner attachments. Two different flowable composites (AlignerFlow LC, VOCO GmbH, Cuxhaven, Germany; AlignerConnect, GC, Tokyo, Japan) will be used to bond the attachments in split mouth designs. To determine the composite for the upper right segment, a coin toss will be performed. The remaining quadrants will be bonded with alternate composite resin. After bonding, intraoral scans will be performed from baseline to 6 months for every 2 months. Stl files obtained from the scans will be imported to NemoStudio, to evaluate the volume loss of the attachments.

Evaluation of the Effect of Aligner Seaters on the Predictability of Tooth Movement in Clear Aligner Therapy.

The goal of clinical trial is to know the role clear aligner seater. The main question it aims to answer is to evaluate the use of clear aligner seater on the effectiveness of clear aligner therapy by questioning the predictability of proposed treatment plan. * Group A (Regular-use group): Use chewy with the 1st insertion of each aligner sets for a day or a couple of days until the aligner seated well with no gap with the teeth. The patients will be instructed to bite on the chewy while the aligners are in position for few seconds. * Group B (customized-use group): In addition to the regular use of the chewy, the participants will be instructed to bite for few seconds while the aligners are in their mouth at bedtime on a daily bases.

Comparison of Single-Layer and Triple-Layer TPU MaxFlex Aligners After Intraoral Use

This study aims to compare two types of clear orthodontic aligner materials used in dental treatment: single-layer and triple-layer thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) aligners (MaxFlex). Clear aligners are commonly used to straighten teeth and are preferred for their comfort and aesthetic appearance. Participants will be provided with aligners and instructed to wear them for approximately 22 hours per day for 10 days. The aligners will be collected before use and after the 10-day period. The study will evaluate how the oral environment affects the properties of these materials over time. Laboratory tests will be conducted to measure mechanical properties such as strength, flexibility, and deformation, as well as to examine surface changes under a microscope. The results of this study may help improve the performance and durability of aligners and contribute to better orthodontic treatment outcomes.
