Individualized Nursing Care and Frailty Outcomes in Cardiac Surgery

This study is a randomized controlled trial aiming to compare targeted individualized nursing care with standard care in frail elderly patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The hypotheses of the study are: H1: Targeted individualized nursing care has an effect on the frailty level of frail elderly patients undergoing cardiac surgery. H2: Targeted individualized nursing care affects the factors influencing frailty in frail elderly patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Single- vs Double-Layer Cesarean Scar Repair and Myometrial Thickness

Cesarean delivery (CD) is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide, with a rising incidence particularly in high-income countries. Although often life-saving, cesarean delivery carries both short- and long-term maternal risks. Early complications include infection, hemorrhage, and thromboembolism, while inadequate uterine healing can lead to future complications such as uterine rupture and placenta accreta spectrum disorders. Additionally, cesarean scars may result in pregnancy complications, isthmocele formation, postmenstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea. This highlights the need for optimization of the surgical technique. Despite increasing cesarean rates, there is no consensus on the optimal uterine closure method. Techniques vary in terms of the number of layers, suture locking style, and inclusion of the endometrium, and their comparative effectiveness in reducing scar defects remains unclear. Some previous studies have reported increased uterine rupture risk with single-layer locked sutures and better healing with double-layer closure, while others found no significant difference in scar outcomes. This study aims to investigate the effects of single- versus double-layer cesarean scar closure on myometrial thickness and its clinical implications.

Effects of Adjunct Omega-3 Long Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patient: an Early Bactericidal Activity and Inflammatory Trial

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the early bactericidal activity, early inflammatory response, and safety of omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (n-3 PUFA) supplementation in adult patients (aged 18- 45 years) with newly diagnosed, bacteriologically confirmed drug-sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis. The main questions it aims to answers are: * Does adjunct n-3 LCPUFA supplementation reduce the sputum culture time to positivity * Does it improve inflammatory markers and TB treatment outcomes compared to placebo Researchers will compare daily supplementation with \~2g n-3 LCPUFA (EPA and DHA ) to placebo (high linoleic sunflower oil) to determine effects on bactericidal activity, inflammation, and clinical outcomes. Participants will: * Be randomly assigned to receive either n-3 LCPUFA or Placebo daily for 8 weeks with the intensive phase of TB treatment * Attend clinical visit baseline, and follow up visit mostly weekly for 2 months and then monthly for 4 months of the continuous phase of TB treatment * Provide blood, sputum and urine samples for biomarkers and metabolomic analysis * Undergo assessments of iron status, body composition and muscle strength

Predictors Of Outcome After Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Using Cardiopulmonary Bypass

In cardiac operations, high values of blood lactate have been associated with bad outcomes if detected both during CPB and at the arrival in the intensive care unit (ICU) in adult patients. Many studies highlighted the potential role of hyperlactatemia on admission to the ICU as a marker for adverse outcome, and one study linked hyperlactatemia during CPB with postoperative morbidity and mortality. Evidence that both CENTRAL VENOUS SATURATION (ScVO2) and blood lactates during CPB are potential early predictors of morbidity and mortality in adult cardiac operations are still lacking.

Nutritional Status and Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Common Malignancies(NCOM)

This multicenter, prospective cohort study investigates the long-term impact of nutritional status on clinical outcomes in cancer patients undergoing treatment in Shaanxi Province, China. It evaluates how malnutrition, dietary patterns, and nutritional interventions affect treatment tolerance, quality of life, and survival. The study tracks dynamic changes in nutritional health and related indicators throughout various stages of chemoradiotherapy, aiming to inform evidence-based strategies for precision nutrition in oncology care.

Minimally Invasive Three-dimensional Knee Kinematic Assessment and Surgical Guidance Using Ultrasonic Rigid Registration

Problem: Currently, no system allows precise kinematic assessment of the knee and accurate guiding of orthopedic surgical actions in a minimally invasive fashion. However, such a system would prove useful in the clinical setting to improve the quality of surgical interventions at the knee. Hypothesis: A novel knee kinematic assessment and surgical guidance tool using 3D personalized imaging and minimally invasive bony fixation allows precise kinematic assessment and surgical guidance in the routine clinical setting. Objectives : * Demonstrating the capacity of the system to precisely measure 3D knee kinematics * Quantifying the reproducibility of the kinematic measurements * Measuring the impact of knee surgical procedures on knee kinematics * Assessing the correlations between measured articular kinematics and clinical results after knee surgery * Integrating the novel measuring system to the surgical flow of three knee surgical procedures * Quantifying the precision and reproducibility of the surgical actions guided by the system * Comparing the clinical results of surgeries guided by the system to those performed with the traditional technique
