The Acute Effect of Exercise Type And Timing on Ambulatory Blood Pressure and Intra-Ocular Pressure in Individuals With Glaucoma (The ACHIEVE-project).
ACHIEVE aims to determine whether exercise can be a safe and effective non-drug approach to improve blood pressure control in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Although exercise is a promising and potentially well-accepted therapy, its use in clinical care is limited because the safety and effectiveness of different exercise types (aerobic, isometric, moderate, or high intensity) and timing (morning versus evening) have not been systematically studied in people with POAG and elevated blood pressure. This study will evaluate the safety and short-term effects of different exercise modalities and timings on 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and blood pressure variability in patients with POAG and elevated blood pressure. It is hypothesized that: * Each exercise session will lead to a temporary reduction in blood pressure (post-exercise hypotension). * The greatest and longest-lasting reduction will occur after high-intensity aerobic exercise performed in the morning. It is also expected that all exercise types and timings will be safe for participants.

Sodium-rich COndiments Unifying Health and Taste
This research aims to develop an evidence-based classification for sodium-rich condiments (natremic index) based on their CVD-related risks. It is hypothesised that the acute cardiovascular and physiological response (effectively extrapolated to long-term CVD risks) to meals prepared with various sodium-rich condiments can be leveraged upon for the development of such an index that will systematically classify sodium-rich condiments based on the risk they present to cardiovascular health.

WeArable teChnology daTa driVen digitAl healTh cOachINg (ACTIVATION)- A Mixed-methods Study
Public health priorities have shifted towards disease prevention, emphasising health promotion and lifestyle interventions to reduce disease burden. Despite global efforts, the prevalence of chronic diseases remains high, with lifestyle factors such as alcohol consumption, diet, smoking, obesity, and sedentary behaviour playing significant roles. In Singapore, suboptimal lifestyle behaviours are common, contributing to a high incidence of chronic conditions. Metabolic syndrome (MetS), linked to obesity, poses a growing societal burden due to its association with cardiovascular risks. Disparities exist in the delivery of lifestyle interventions among healthcare providers (HCPs), with many patients receiving inadequate guidance. Digital health coaching, incorporating wearable technology, offers promising solutions to bridge these gaps, providing personalised, real-time support and feedback to improve lifestyle behaviours and prevent disease progression. Challenges such as time constraints, lack of feedback, and limited support can be addressed through remote monitoring and tailored interventions, making scalable population-level interventions feasible.

Know Your Pressures NYC
Dr. Lisa A. Hark (PI and Study Chair) and an interdisciplinary team have designed "Know Your Pressures NYC" to conduct blood pressure (BP)/glaucoma screenings in adults age 40+ to identify undiagnosed and/or uncontrolled hypertension and/or glaucoma/suspect. For the purpose of this study, individuals will be identified as glaucoma suspects if they have elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) or have features of glaucoma optic neuropathy, as assessed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus/optic nerve photographs, as interpreted by the masked Reading Center.

Post-exercise Hot Water Immersion to Improve Overnight Blood Pressure
The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether putting a participant's legs in a hot bath after exercise improves blood pressure in people with higher blood pressure. . The main questions it aims to answer are: * Whether exercise alone, hot water leg bath alone, or both treatments together cause blood pressure to be lower during sleep. * If there are any changes in heart rhythm or blood vessel health after exercise, hot water leg bath, or the two treatments together that relate to changes in blood pressure. Participants will complete four different trials: * 30 minutes of walking with a 45-minute lukewarm leg bath after * 30 minutes of walking with a 45-minute hot leg bath after * 45 minutes of a hot leg bath with no exercise * A day with no exercise or leg bath Researchers will look at heart rhythm, blood vessels, and blood pressure after each of these trials to see if there are differences, and if exercise and heat together can improve heart health more than exercise or heat alone.

A Pivotal Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Isometric Handgrip Therapy in Elevated Blood Pressure and Hypertensive Subjects
The study will be a multi-center, randomized clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of using the Zona Plus handgrip therapy device compared to the use of an auditory relaxation therapy for treatment of high blood pressure and hypertension in subjects who are not currently taking antihypertensive medications. Half of the study subjects will also be randomized to record blood pressure at home throughout the study.

Office, Home, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure
This will be a prospective observational study. The population would be pediatric patients 6 years to \<19 years of age who were referred for elevated blood pressure to investigate if home blood pressure (HBP) can determine blood pressure phenotype (normotensive, hypertensive, masked hypertension, white coat hypertension) as accurately as ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) in childhood and adolescence.

Blood Pressure Following Isometric Exercise in Inactive Adults
This study investigates how isometric exercise training (IET) affects blood pressure in physically inactive adults. Isometric exercise involves sustained muscle contractions without movement-for example, pushing against a fixed object. Previous research has shown that IET may help reduce blood pressure, but the mechanisms involved are not fully understood. The purpose of this study is to assess both the immediate (acute) and long-term (chronic) effects of IET on cardiovascular outcomes. Participants will complete a series of lab-based exercise sessions over several weeks. In these sessions, they will perform repeated bouts of isometric leg extensions while seated on an exercise machine designed to measure muscle force. Throughout the study, researchers will monitor participants' blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle activity. Acute responses-such as post-exercise hypotension (a short-term drop in blood pressure)-will be measured immediately after exercise. Chronic changes, such as resting blood pressure improvements, will be evaluated across the training period. Additional measurements will include heart rate variability (HRV), which gives insight into autonomic nervous system activity, and electromyography (EMG), which tracks muscle fatigue and activation patterns. These data will help explore potential mechanisms behind the cardiovascular benefits of IET. By examining how repeated sessions of isometric exercise influence blood pressure and related physiological responses, this research may support the use of IET as a non-pharmacological strategy for managing or preventing hypertension in physically inactive individuals.

Effect of TOTUM-854 on Blood Pressure in Subjects With Moderately Elevated Blood Pressure
This clinical study aims to assess the efficacy of TOTUM-854, a mix of 6 plant extracts, consumed twice a day on automated office blood pressure in subjects with moderately elevated blood pressure. The hypothesis is that TOTUM-854 is superior to placebo for decrease of automated office blood pressure after 12 weeks of consumption.
