NCT07409740

Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Evaluation Of Patients Taking Hydroxychloroquine

This study aims to evaluate retinal and choroidal microvascular changes using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in patients receiving hydroxychloroquine therapy. Hydroxychloroquine is commonly used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and may cause retinal toxicity with long-term use. OCTA is a non-invasive imaging modality that allows detailed assessment of retinal vascular changes.

Novel ERG for Detection of Hydroxychloroquine Retinopathy

The purpose of the study is to investigate novel electroretinography (ERG) devices in the detection of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy. Two devices (the RETEval full-field and flicker ERG and UTAS multifocal ERG) will be evaluated in this study, comparing device outputs to standard of care screening tests, in groups of participants characterised by presence or absence of hydroxychloroquine-related retinopathy.

Adaptive Optics Imaging of Outer Retinal Diseases

The objective of the study is to collect adaptive optics (AO) retinal images from human subjects with outer retinal diseases (diseases of the outer retina including photoreceptor, retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), basement membrane or choroidal pathologies) to develop new diagnostic methods, biomarkers, and clinical endpoints.
