Intraventricular Hemorrhage in Kangaroo Care vs. Incubator Care

This clinical study aims to find out whether kangaroo care (skin-to-skin contact between parents and their extremely premature newborns) can help protect the babies' brains by reducing the risk of bleeding in the brain during the first days of life. To do this, the extremely premature newborns will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: kangaroo care in a side-lying position, kangaroo care in a face-down position, or standard care in an incubator. Researchers will monitor the babies for signs of brain bleeding and other health measures to determine which approach is safest. The main hypothesis is that kangaroo care in the side-lying position may lower the risk of severe brain bleeding compared with the other positions or remaining in the incubator.

Placing External Ventricular Drains Using Assistive Augmented Reality or Image-Based Localization

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess if EVD placement using augmented reality is non inferior to image-guidance systems for assistance in adult patients needing an EVD for spontaneous ICH with IVH or severe TBI. The main question it aims to answer is: Can EVDs be placed successfully with at least equal safety and efficacy using augmented reality devices in comparison to using standard image-guidance techniques?

Delayed Cord Clamping With Oxygen In Extremely Low Gestation Infants

This study is being conducted to compare the incidence of preterm infants (up to 28+6 weeks GA) who achieve a peripheral oxygen saturation of 80 percent by 5 minutes of life (MOL) given mask CPAP/PPV with an FiO2 of 1.0 during DCC for 90 seconds (HI Group) to infants given mask CPAP/PPV with an FiO2 of .30 during DCC for 90 seconds (LO Group).
