Grow Together, Thrive Together: A Feasibility Study of a Brief Relationship Intervention for Emerging Adults and Their Caregivers

Background. Emerging adulthood is a period of major change in young people's lives, including increased independence, new responsibilities, and shifting relationships with parents or caregivers. During this time, disagreements between emerging adults and caregivers are common and may become more frequent or emotionally intense. How families manage these disagreements may affect relationship quality and emotional well-being for both emerging adults and caregivers. However, there are few brief, accessible programs designed to support emerging adults and caregivers together during this transition. Grow Together, Thrive Together (G2T2) is a brief, online, writing-based relationship program designed for emerging adults and their caregivers. The program encourages participants to reflect on disagreements using a neutral, outside-observer perspective, with the goal of helping families approach conflict in healthier ways. G2T2 is designed to be low-intensity, self-directed, and accessible, and can be completed remotely using secure online platforms. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the G2T2 program and study procedures, rather than to test effectiveness. This feasibility clinical trial will examine whether emerging adult-caregiver dyads can be successfully recruited and retained, whether participants complete the writing sessions as planned, and whether participants find the program acceptable, easy to use, and understandable. The study will also explore whether participants report using the conflict reappraisal strategy outside of the writing sessions and examine changes in relationship and conflict-related outcomes before and after the program to inform future research. Participants will take part as emerging adult-caregiver pairs. Each participant will complete an online baseline survey, three brief online writing sessions completed over approximately nine weeks, and a follow-up survey one week after the final session. Each writing session includes brief questions about recent disagreements, a short instructional video, brief questions to check understanding of the strategy, and guided writing exercises focused on reflecting on disagreements and planning how to use the strategy in future interactions. All activities are completed independently and online. Findings from this study will be used to refine the G2T2 program and study procedures and to inform the design of a future, larger randomized controlled trial.

IPT-based Group Intervention by Non-specialist for Improvement of Depressive Symptoms in Community Young Adults in Brazil

Major depressive disorder is a highly prevalent, recurrent, and debilitating disease, the third cause of years of lost life in the world, and it may be the most common disease in 2030, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Furthermore, it's also related to decreased quality of life and high mortality. Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) is a first-line treatment and can also be used for the prevention of depression. This randomized controlled clinical trial is planned to have 50 participants randomized between an interventional and a control group (waiting list). Our study covers young adults (18 to 24 years old) with depression. Participants will be invited by social media to undergo treatment in an IPT group. The intervention group will be separated into groups with up to 10 participants, with a weekly meeting for eight weeks. The intervention will focus on interpersonal relationships within the model of IPT and will be held by a university student and a doctor trained in IPT.

Effectiveness of Interpersonal Relationship Psychotherapy Intervention for Female Victims of Intimate Partner Violence

This interventional study aims to examine the impact of the Interpersonal Relationship Psychotherapy-Based Intervention Program on the psychosocial well-being of female victims of intimate partner violence. The main questions to be answered are the following: 1. Is the Interpersonal Relationship Psychotherapy-Based Intervention Program effective on the interpersonal problems of female victims of intimate partner violence? 2. Is the Interpersonal Relationship Psychotherapy-Based Intervention Program effective on the mental well-being of female victims of intimate partner violence? The study will include eight individual interviews using a variety of data collection forms.

Prevention Workshop to Address Bullying Behaviors in Schools

This study, titled APACHES, is a cluster randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of a school-based prevention program, "Tous Épanouis à l'École" (TEAL), conducted by healthcare students as part of their mandatory public health service curriculum. The TEAL program consists of five interactive sessions focused on developing psychosocial skills (e.g., communication, empathy, collaboration) among elementary school students (grades CE2-CM1-CM2) in the Grenoble Academy. The primary objective is to assess whether the program reduces the prevalence of bullying behaviors (victims and/or aggressors) compared to standard preventive actions on unrelated themes. The study involves 36 classrooms across 18 schools, with data collected at three time points: before, one month after, and four months after the intervention. Secondary objectives include evaluating social proximity, altruistic behaviors, and qualitative perceptions from students, teachers, and facilitators.

Beneficial or Fostering Future Struggles (B.F.F.s)? Characterizing the Role of Friends in the Development of 13- to 17-Year-Old Adolescents

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate how the friendship experiences of maltreated (i.e., abused and/or neglected) and non-maltreated adolescents differentially influence their risk for adverse outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How do the friendships of maltreated adolescents differ from those of non-maltreated adolescents? 2. Which friendship experiences influence the associations between maltreatment and ability to regulate stress, as well as future mental health difficulties and revictimization? Participants will: * Attend the initial study visit on the campus of the University of South Carolina with their primary caregiver and a best friend during which they will: * Complete study questionnaires * Be connected to a device that records their physical ability to manage stress * Complete a task during which they will be audio and video recorded and complete a brief assessment rating how they are feeling at different times during task completion * Depending on which research group they are placed in, be assigned to discuss their experience doing this task with their friend (intervention group) or sit quietly in a room for 5 minutes (comparison group) * The follow-up study visit will involve completion of study questionnaires online or via mail 6 months later Additionally, the participant's caregiver and friend will complete study questionnaires. Researchers will compare the intervention group (debriefs with a friend) and comparison group (sits quietly for 5 minutes) to see if the presence of and discussion with the friend influences their physical ability to regulate stress and future outcomes.

Global Controlled Trial on Effects of an Online Self-Help Program for of Ambitious Altruists on Their Mental Health, Wellbeing, and Productivity: Comparing Versions With IFS vs. CBT, Buddy- vs. Group-, Standard- vs. Minimum-Guidance Intensity.

This study aims to compare different versions of a 16-week online self-help program in terms of their effect on self-assessed mental health, well-being, and productivity. The versions differ in their intensity (standard, low) and type (buddy, group) of guidance, the applied psychotherapeutic approaches taught (IFS, CBT). We expect to recruit a sample of \~150 ambitious altruists and have them self-select into the four program versions. Participants take part in surveys before, at weeks 8, 12, and 16 to self-assess their productivity, mental health burden, quality of life, and other risk and protection factors. Weekly screenings will provide data on objective and subjective success components such as participant engagement, working alliance, and treatment adherence, which will be correlated with primary and secondary outcomes.
