Reducing Red Blood Cell Transfusion Requirements for Adults Undergoing Surgical Resection of the Liver - A Quality Improvement Project
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if implementing a controlled blood removal protocol (i.e. hypovolemic phlebotomy \[HP\] where approximately 10% of the patient's blood is removed and reinfused following hepatic resection as described in the PRICE-2 clinical trial) will reduce the rate of blood transfusions in liver resection surgery at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Our goals (not included in the PRICE-2 trial) are as follows: * Improved monitoring of how the body responds during surgery following controlled blood removal. We will conduct blood tests to look at oxygen, carbon dioxide, lactate, and acid (pH) levels in the blood as well as urine output. * Standardized guidelines for how fluids and blood pressure medications are used during surgery to reduce blood loss and keep hemodynamics stable. * Monitor patients' recovery following surgery to track complications, injury to the heart, length of hospital stay, and outcomes for up to 90 days. We will also compare long-term recurrence rate of liver cancer compared to patients in the past at our site who did not receive the controlled blood removal (i.e., HP) prior to surgery.

View of Cerebral Perfusion in Liver Transplantation
Investigator's aim in this study is to compare the more accessible and low-cost Carotid Doppler USG measurements, which are relatively more difficult to access, costly, and have technical disadvantages, and to demonstrate their superiority over each other in the evaluation of cerebral perfusion in liver transplantation surgeries, without any invasive intervention to the patient.

Analysis of Breath Sounds During Surgery
This study aims to analyze breath sounds during surgery by using electronic stethoscope sensors attached to patients under general anesthesia. The study will evaluate whether breath sound monitoring can provide useful information for respiratory management, assist anesthesiologists in early detection of abnormal breathing events, and support safer perioperative care. A total of 30 adult patients undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia will be enrolled.

Evaluation of New Flexible High-density Intra-operative ECoG Electrodes for Epilepsy Surgery. ( EpiGrid )
The objective of this prospective interventional monocentric clinical investigation is to evaluate the feasibility and performance of the flexible high-density SOFT ECoG electrode grids, manufactured by Neurosoft Bioelectronics SA (test device; TD), in comparison to regular high-density electrode grids (ADTech, CE-marked) (control device; CD) routinely used at the investigation site during epilepsy surgery. Subjects will undergo ≥ 2 additional intracranial recordings pre- and post-resection with the TD next to the standard recordings with the CD during ECoG-tailored epilepsy surgery.
