Face Mask vs Laryngeal Mask in Neonatal Resuscitation

The goal of this single-centre interventional study without medication neither device (for procedure) is to improve training of health care personnel (physicians, nurses, and midwives) on neonatal resuscitation through manikin simulation. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Is it possible to compare the ease of use and speed of application of the laryngeal mask versus the face mask in ventilating the newborn during simulated manikin training? * What are the differences in the time required to achieve optimal skills in using the two masks? * What is health care personnel's level of confidence in using laryngeal mask versus face mask?

Can the Use of a Next Generation Partograph Improve Neonatal Outcomes? (PICRINO)

The overall aim is to evaluate the impact of the use of two different guidelines for monitoring labor progress, the WHOs LCG versus standard care, on neonatal and maternal outcomes. The hypothesis is that the use of LCG will reduce adverse neonatal outcomes and decrease the number of intrapartum Cesarean sections compared with standard care. Secondly, other perinatal interventions and complications will be compared between the LCG and standard care groups, as well as economic considerations. This will be investigated using a multicenter, stepped-wedge cluster randomized trial design. In addition, the project will explore a series of quantitative and qualitative research questions to gain in-depth knowledge about experiences and perceptions about childbirth and the use of LCG. These research questions will be investigated using questionnaires, focus group and individual interviews with providers, partners and women that have gone through childbirth.

Prevention of Metabolic Acidosis in Preterm Neonates by Replacing Sodium Chloride With Sodium Acetate in Parenteral Nutrition

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the addition of sodium acetate in neonatal PN works to prevent and treat metabolic acidosis and associated comorbidities in preterm neonates. It will also teach about the optimal doses of sodium acetate in PN. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is the incidence of metabolic acidosis reduced in preterm neonates who received daily Sodium acetate in PN therapy (treatment) during the initial weeks of life compared with individuals who received sodium chloride in PN (standard)? Is the rate of neonatal comorbidities reduced in preterm neonates who received daily Sodium acetate in PN therapy (treatment) during the initial weeks of life compared with individuals who received sodium chloride in PN (standard)? What are the optimal neonatal dosing recommendations/guidelines of sodium acetate in daily PN, which are required to prevent/treat metabolic acidosis in the early life of preterm neonates? Researchers will compare Sodium acetate in PN therapy to sodium chloride in PN to see if Sodium acetate works to prevent and treat metabolic acidosis and associated comorbidities. Included Participants: All the neonates were admitted to the NICU of AKUH and received PN during 28 days of their lives. Participants will receive sodium acetate or sodium chloride Written informed consent was obtained by parents/legal representatives (according to local regulations) before the initiation of PN. Gestational age \< 33 weeks Included in the study before 72 hours of life
