Brain Stimulation for Concussion

The goal of this clinical trial is to test a new type of magnetic brain stimulation in patients with persistent post-concussive symptoms. Participants will undergo detailed MRI scans before and after 30 treatment sessions (of 3-10 minutes each). The main questions the study aims to answer are: * Will this new type of treatment result in fewer symptoms and better daily functioning? * What are the effects of this treatment on brain functioning?

Predictive Factors for Initial MMSE Score and Rapid Decline in Alzheimer's Disease Patients

This study looks at people with Alzheimer's disease to find out which factors are linked to their initial score on the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and which factors may predict a fast decline in their score over 12 months. Researchers will review medical records from patients seen at the Memory Clinic of Gonesse Hospital and analyze information such as age, education, medical history, nutrition, mood, and caregiver burden. The goal is to better understand what influences early cognitive performance and how quickly it changes, to help improve patient care and planning.

Vanderbilt Memory and Aging Project

This study will use an observational cohort to cross-sectionally and longitudinally relate vascular health to clinical, imaging, and biological markers of early Alzheimer's disease and cerebrovascular disease among aging adults. Adjusting for relevant clinical covariates, we will test the hypothesis that vascular health is associated with clinical, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), neuropsychological, and cerebrospinal fluid markers of early cerebrovascular and Alzheimer's disease changes (i.e., prior to the onset of significant cognitive decline or dementia). Secondarily, we will examine medical and genetic factors that might mediate associations between vascular health and brain aging, such as inflammatory processes, insulin resistance, and genetic factors (e.g., APOE, a susceptibility risk factor for dementia). Findings will advance knowledge regarding the role that vascular health plays in brain aging.

Screening for Cognitive Disorders in Multiple Sclerosis

This study aims to identify cognitive problems in adults with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS can affect memory, thinking speed, and spatial skills, which may impact daily life and work. We will use simple and proven tests to check for these difficulties and see how they affect quality of life. The study will include about 60 patients followed at the neurology day hospital.

Adaptation and Normalization of a Verbal Episodic Memory Test in French Sign Language

To date, neuropsychological assessment of deaf signing persons is complicated by a lack of resources, especially the absence of tools available in French Sign Language (LSF). This is due to perceptual and cultural differences, and in particular the linguistic differences between French and LSF. This lack of resources significantly hinders access to care for deaf patients, as neuropsychological assessment is often a key clinical criterion in the diagnosis of certain neurological pathologies (Alzheimer's disease in particular) and enables coherent care plans to be drawn up, for example in the aftermath of strokes or traumatic brain injuries. In particular, episodic memory (which refers to the ability to memorise information anchored in a specific context) is a cognitive domain that is sensitive to pathologies such as Alzheimer's disease, but it is not currently possible to assess it with deaf signing patients. The aim of this study is to create a memory assessment test adapted to a deaf population that expresses in LSF and to normalize this test on this same population. The aim is to provide a diagnosis assessment tool, which currently does not exist in France, to improve access to care for deaf people. This project could then be extended to the creation of tests for other cognitive domains (executive functions, attention, social cognition, etc.) and to prospects for cognitive remediation. The 16-item Free and Cued Recall test (RL-RI 16) is the best choice because it is easy to use and accurate enough to assess each stage of episodic memory. These qualities make it a decisive tool in certain differential diagnosis. In order to select the most relevant signs, lexical lists by frequency in LSF will be drawn up during a preliminary phase, during which the participants will have to give, in one minute, the maximum number of signs belonging to different categories (animals, vegetables, clothes...). These lists will be used to select the most relevant signs according to their frequency (neither too common nor too rare), based on the same principle as RL-RI 16. It will then be standardised on deaf adults, for whom LSF is the main language, with no cognitive impairment, across France, via the various Deaf Care Units, with the help of French / LSF interpreters. Working with different centers in France will make it possible to recruit a larger and more representative number of participants, and to be more sensitive to any regional effects.

Perioperative IL-33 is Associated with the Early Stage of Postoperative Neurocognitive Dysfunction After Major Abdominal Surgery

Perioperative neurocognitive dysfunction(PND) are common complications of major surgery among patients, could be a long-term disease, which sometimes lasts for several years, and it is meaningful to find a biomarker of PND at the early stage.As far as we know, the relationship between IL-33 and PND is not clear yet in the gastrointestinal and hepatic area. Thus, the investigators designed this study to find out the association between IL-33 and occurrence of PND, and determine whether IL-33 could be a biomarker of the early stage of PND.Study population included 150 subjects. Neuropsychological questionnaire were administrated one day before surgery and three days after surgery. And the end of the operation peripheral venous blood was sampled to measure IL-33 inflammatory protein expression in peripheral blood monocytes. Analyze the data and draw conclusions.
