Conversations in Health Literacy Using AI Technology for Osteoarthritis Patients
The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the use of a generative artificial intelligence large language model chatbot in improving decision making factors in patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the use of an artificial intelligence chatbot have an effect on decisional conflict and anxiety related to decision making? Are changes in decisional conflict correlated with changes in patient reported outcomes? Are changes in decisional conflict correlated with health literacy? Participants will interact with an artificial intelligence chatbot prior to their clinic visit with an orthopaedic surgeon, using a structured prompt.

Implementing a Guideline-based Model of Care for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis in Finland. A Benchmarking-controlled Trial (FIN-OA)
This project aims to bridge the gap between guideline recommendations and clinical practice in osteoarthritis (OA) management. By implementing a systematic, evidence-based model of care, the project seeks to improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and provide equitable access to care. The project consists of three phases. In the first phase the current OA care is mapped through registry review and questionnaires and interviews of patients and healthcare professionals. In the second, implementation phase of the project, a plan will be created how to support healthcare professionals in delivering care according to the new model of care and training and support will be offered according to the plan. In the third phase of the project, the implementation success will be evaluated, and the costs of OA care evaluated and compared to baseline data. In addition, patient-reported data will be collected from those patients, who participate in the group-based exercise and education program.

Effects of Vitamin D Supplementation on Postoperative Rehabilitation in Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Patients
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if vitamin D supplementation affects postoperative rehabilitation in osteoarthritis patients who underwent joint arthroplasty. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does oral vitamin D supplementation for a period of time after joint arthroplasty affect the postoperative recovery speed in patients who have vitamin D deficiency? Does oral vitamin D supplementation after joint arthroplasty affect the long-term recovery of joint functions in patients who have vitamin D deficiency? Participants will: Take vitamin D oral supplement every day for 3 months. Visit the clinic in 1, 3, 6, 12 months after joint replacement surgery for checkups and tests.
