Lille Study for Childhood Health Promotion
Obesity could be avoided but once declared it become a chronic disease with numerous health complications, including cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, cancers, and finally a loss of life expectancy. Considering that after the age of 6 years old, half of the obese children will become obese adults, the WHO has been declared childhood obesity prevention as a health priority area. Large-scale prevention of obesity is challenging and it would be more efficient to proceed to early identification of high risks children to implement personalized prevention. The ELIPSE study main objective is to evaluate the efficacy of personalized multidisciplinary care to reduce the BMI of overweight or obese children. A 2 years educational program will be evaluated at short and longer terms (after a 12 months follow-up), and its benefits will also be assessed based on comparison with a historical control group. Along with efficacy evaluation, scientific objectives were designed to investigate clinical, genetic, social, and behavioural risk factors and to analyse potential correlations between these factors and a predisposition to overweight or obesity. Moreover, advanced analyses will be performed to decipher the impact of diverse risk profiles on the efficacy of the educational program. The motive of the ELIPSE study is to promote the health and well-being of children and their families to tackle the health burden represented by childhood overweight and obesity. Combined with innovative scientific objectives, this study ambitions to develop more efficient and more personalized preventive care methods.

The Bloom Study - a Safe and Healthy Start in Life
The aim of the Bloom Study is to promote healthy weight development among infants through a home-based health promoting intervention implemented in the Danish setting of community health nurses. The intervention begins during pregnancy and runs until the child reaches the age of 30 months. The Bloom Intervention was developed over a six-year period from 2017 to 2023 according to the Intervention Mapping approach and based on a co-creation process. The Bloom Intervention is evaluated in a cluster-randomized trial involving 22 Danish municipalities (11 intervention and 11 control). All children born from first-time mothers over a period of 12 months are invited to participate.

Brain Health in Youth With Normal Weight, Overweight and Obesity at Risk for Type 2 Diabetes (T2D)
Investigators propose to study youth across the spectrum of body mass index (BMI) and dysglycemia. This approach will allow investigators to disentangle the relationship of key features of type 2 diabetes (T2D) risk (e.g. obesity) with intermediary physiologic changes (e.g. insulin resistance, inflammation, β-cell dysfunction and dysglycemia) that pose a risk for the brain. Investigators will determine which of these factors are most associated with differences in brain structure and function among groups, over time, and how these effects differ from normal neurodevelopment.

Comparative-effectiveness of a Healthy Lifestyle and Asthma Management Program, In-person vs. ONline
The goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of CHAMPION ("Comparative-effectiveness of a Healthy lifestyle and Asthma Management Program, In-person vs ONline"), a primary care-based intervention to address childhood obesity and asthma, and test the effectiveness of a telehealth-only version of the program. Intensive Health Behavior and Lifestyle Treatment (IHBLT), when delivered via telehealth vs. in-person among children with overweight or obesity and persistent asthma.
