NCT07364370
Myopia Progression Control Using Atropine 0.05% After Pediatric Cataract Surgery And Intraocular Lens Implantation Surgery
Myopic shift remains a debilitating and unpredictable adverse event following pediatric cataract surgery. While research exploring peripheral myopic defocus for post-cataract surgery myopia prevention shows promising results, the use of multifocal intra-ocular lenses (IOLs) cannot be used liberally in countries with high disease burden and challenged economies due to high price and decreased availability. To date there are no studies evaluating the use of topical atropine for the management of myopic shift following pediatric cataract surgery. The investigators aim to explore the use of 0.05% topical atropine in the prevention and management of myopic shift following pediatric cataract surgery.

Five-Year Visual Function and Refractive Outcomes After Congenital Cataract Surgery
This prospective multicenter observational study aims to evaluate the 5-year visual function and refractive outcomes in children undergoing surgery for congenital cataract. Key outcomes include best-corrected visual acuity, stereopsis, refractive error, and axial length growth. The study will help identify long-term trends and prognostic indicators after early cataract intervention in pediatric patients.

Shanghai Pediatric Cataract Study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term visual outcome of the cataract surgery using a large-scale and comprehensive database of pediatric cataract participants, including congenital and traumatic cataract. The investigators will further investigate into the various genetic and environmental factors that may contribute to the pathogenesis of pediatric cataract.

The Cohort Study of Pediatric Cataract
This retrospective-prospective bidirectional cohort study aims to observe ocular parameter changes, different surgical/vision recovery strategies and postoperative adverse effects among young children with cataract. The influence on psychology and cognitive function will be taken into consideration as well.
