Effectiveness of a Prehabilitation Program for Hip or Knee Arthroplasty Surgery.

We live in an increasingly aging society in which the incidence of osteoarticular diseases increases, among which osteoarthritis (OA) stands out. OA is a degenerative disorder of the different components of the joint leading to a progressive destruction of the same. The hip and knee being the most affected joints, OA presents multiple symptoms such as pain, stiffness and functional limitation, also causing psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, quality of sleep and poor perception of quality of life. Conventional treatment is aimed at alleviating symptoms, but when conservative therapies fail in the more advanced stages of the disease, total joint replacement surgery or arthroplasty is the therapeutic option of choice. Strength physical exercise (PE) and aerobic training have been shown to be effective in OA, obtaining positive effects on the symptoms and on variables that deteriorate this disease. The concept of pre-habilitation or preoperative rehabilitation has been shown through other studies in different pathologies (cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal) to have positive effects at a clinical and functional level, however, the planning of a pre-habilitation protocol in hip or knee arthroplasty is still controversial. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect that a prehabilitation program will produce and its possible usefulness in those subjects who are waiting for a hip or knee arthroplasty. It is expected to find favorable results that support this therapy when it comes to reducing postoperative recovery times, functional capacity and other psychological variables of interest. This powerful tool could represent a non-pharmacological and non-invasive therapy, as well as being useful and economical in the management of patients with OA in advanced stages.

Reliability of Muscle Strength and Activation Assessment Tools and Effects of an Online Therapeutic Exercise Program in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease

This research aims to evaluate the reliability and reproducibility of muscle strength and activation measurement tools, including isokinetic dynamometry and surface electromyography, in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Additionally, the study will assess the feasibility and potential benefits of an online therapeutic exercise program supervised by physiotherapists.

Effectiveness of Radial Nerve Mobilization for Chronic Epicondylalgia

Effectiveness of radial nerve mobilization techniques and their interfaces for treating chronic epicondylalgia Intervention: This is a randomized controlled clinical trial that will evaluate the effectiveness of adding radial nerve and its interface mobilization techniques to conventional musculoskeletal treatment. Participants: Patients over 18 years of age with a diagnosis of chronic epicondylalgia and a positive radial nerve neurodynamic test. Those with previous infiltrations, concomitant pathologies, or contraindications will be excluded. Study Groups: * Control Group (n=23): Will receive conventional musculoskeletal treatment. * Intervention Group (n=23): Will receive the same conventional treatment plus mobilization of the radial nerve and its interfaces. Primary Outcomes: * Pain (NPRS). * Pain and functionality (PRTEE). * Pressure pain threshold (Algometry). * Pain-free grip strength (Dynamometry). * Central sensitization (CSI). Assessments will be conducted at baseline, one week after the last treatment, and 3 months after the last treatment.

Corrective Calcaneal Kinesiology Tape in Adolescents With Pronated Foot

The aim of this study is to find the effect of a program of corrective kinesiotaping on pain intensity, foot function, and the sonographic picture of plantar fascia in adolescents with pronated feet.This study hypothesizes that there will be a statistically significant effect of a program of application of the corrective technique of kinesiotaping on plantar heel pain, foot function, and the sonographic picture of plantar fascia in a sample of Egyptian adolescents suffering from pronated feet.

Positive Pressure Therapy to Optimize LUNG Function After Heart Surgery

The most common cardiac surgeries are myocardial revascularization and valve replacement or plastic surgery. In the postoperative period of cardiac surgeries, the incidence of pulmonary complications ranges from 30% to 50% and is associated with increased length of hospital stay and morbidity and mortality. To reduce or minimize the occurrence of these complications, respiratory physiotherapy employs positive pressure reexpansion therapies, such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and positive pressure support with positive end-expiratory pressure (PS+PEEP). The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effects of two positive pressure therapies, CPAP versus PS+PEEP, on the incidence of pulmonary complications in patients in the postoperative period of myocardial revascularization and valve replacement or plastic surgery, with mild to moderate pulmonary dysfunction. The main question it aims to answer is: Do patients in the immediate postoperative period of myocardial revascularization or valve replacement/plastic surgery, exhibiting mild to moderate pulmonary dysfunction, experience a comparable reversal of pulmonary conditions when treated with PS+PEEP versus CPAP? Participants will undergo the following assessments: spirometry, respiratory muscle strength testing, handgrip strength testing, and electrical impedance tomography. In the immediate postoperative period, participants will be randomized into two treatment groups: • Control Group PS+PEEP - application of 4 sets of 20 repetitions with PS to provide a tidal volume equal to 10ml/kg of predicted body weight, PEEP equal to 10 cmH2O, and inspired oxygen fraction (FiO2) to achieve peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) between 92-94%; • Experimental Group CPAP - application of CPAP at 10 cmH2O with FiO2 to achieve SpO2 between 92-94% for 30 minutes.

Physiotherapy vs Telerehabilitation After Volar Plating of Distal Radius Fracture

Trial purpose is to research the outcome comparing traditional physiotherapy vs telerehabilitation after volar plating of distal radius fracture. Patients with distal radius fracture that meet the operative criteria set by the Finnish Current Care guidelines are randomized (1:1 computer generated sequence with random block size) to two parallel groups and will undergo operative treatment and traditional physiotherapy vs telerehabilitation. Baseline data is collected preoperatively and patients are followed at 1, 3 and 12 months after enrollment. The primary end-point is 3 months and the primary outcome is the Patient-Rated Wrist Evaluation (PRWE).

Comprehensive Intensive Stroke Rehabilitation

In this study, the investigators aim to assess the effectiveness of the Comprehensive Intensive Rehabilitation Program After Stroke implementing the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health model, and to compare it with two cohorts receiving Comprehensive Intensive Rehabilitation Program After Stroke of the same length but different in physical therapy content (program implementing modern technological approach and neuroproprioceptive "facilitation and inhibition"). Moreover, control group will undergo standard care.
