Assessing Changes in the Gut Microbiome of Non-Gastrointestinal Disordered Subjects Before and After Oral Prebiotic Supplementation Using the SIMBA Capsule

This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical study. The primary objective is to assess the changes in the small intestinal (SI) metagenomic profile of healthy participants without any known gastrointestinal disorders from baseline to endpoint in response to the prebiotic intervention (FiberSmart). The study population are adults (n=30) who will ingest either the FiberSmart or a matched Placebo daily for 21 days. Both products will be referred to as the Investigational Product (IP) in the study procedures section. While prebiotics are widely used for gut health, their specific impact on the small intestinal ecosystem remains largely uncharacterized compared to the large intestine. Understanding their impact on the upper GI tract can lead to new insights into their mechanisms of action. Given the critical role of the small intestine in metabolism and immunity, the study utilizes the SIMBA capsule to measure novel changes in the small intestine along with traditional measurements from stool samples.

Prebiotic Inulin for Late-Reproductive Individuals

This study aims to evaluate the effects of 2 weeks of inulin supplementation in perimenopausal women with overweight or obesity. The primary questions this study seeks to answer are: 1. Does 2 weeks of inulin supplementation alter the gut and vaginal estrobolome compared with placebo? 2. Does 2 weeks of inulin supplementation affect cardiovascular health compared with placebo? 3. Does 2 weeks of inulin supplementation affect skeletal muscle health compared with placebo? Researchers will compare inulin with a placebo (a similar-looking supplement that does not contain inulin) to determine whether inulin influences gut and vaginal microbial function, cardiovascular health, and skeletal muscle health during the perimenopausal transition. Participants will: * Take either inulin or a placebo for 2 weeks, followed by a 2- to 4-week washout period, and then switch to the other supplement for an additional 2 weeks. * Attend 8 study visits over approximately 12 to 16 weeks for assessments and sample collection. * Complete weekly phone calls to monitor symptoms, supplement adherence, and dietary intake. * Wear a Fitbit device throughout the study to monitor physical activity.

Dietary Supplements in Patients With Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting for Improving the Quality of Healthcare Delivery.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death worldwide. Prevention of CAD by targeting modifiable factors remains a key public health priority. L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C - Vit. C) and Omega 3 fatty acids, Eicosapentaenoic / Docosahexaenoic Acid (EPO/DHA), powerful but also necessary antioxidants for the human body, after observational studies as well as randomized studies seem to have a beneficial effect in the direction of the prevention of CVD with pleiotropic mechanisms. Lignin, a polymer of plant origin that is considered a dietary fiber, has a developed porous structure and can retain exogenous and endogenous toxins, and pathogenic microorganisms. Lactulose considered a prebiotic provides a selective substrate for the metabolism of saccharolytic bacteria with bifidogenic activity and multiple benefits to the host's gut health. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is an established surgical intervention and treatment of symptoms of myocardial ischemia that improves patient survival Optimal Medical Therapy (OMT) after coronary arterial bypass grafting (CABG) as described in current clinical practice could be made even better by the addition of these beneficial food supplements. A randomized controlled trial is proposed in an intervention group of 54 post-CABG patients who will be given daily orally in addition to the usual medication, 1000 mg Vitamin C, 840 mg EPO/DHA, 2130 mg Lignin \& 720 mg Lactulose and a control group of 54 patients (Control Group) in which only usual medication will be administered. The intervention will take place from the 15th postoperative day when CAGB patients are discharged and lasts for 2.5 months (10 weeks) postoperatively. The data will be collected on the 15th, 80-90th postop day in 6 months and 12 months postop and then the statistical analysis of the data will be performed. Considering the number of CABG surgeries performed electively in our clinic, this study is expected to be completed in approximately 2-3 years from the day of initiation. The expected knowledge through the expected results such as these will emerge from this study is the potentially beneficial effect of our food supplements administration (intervention), i.e. Vitamin C, EPO/DHA, Lignin \& Lactulose, on the postoperative course of our patients. Some degree of improvement in the well-being and clinical picture of our patients postoperatively is expected, which will be thoroughly investigated in each phase of the study.

Multiomic Signatures of Microbial Metabolites Following Prebiotic Fiber Supplementation

The investigators propose a comprehensive, multiomic study that will integrate longitudinal data associating changes in specific gut bacteria and host in response to prebiotic fiber supplementation. These data will guide the development of an integrative biological signature relating bacterial-derived metabolites with biological outcome in the host. The open sharing of data generated by the proposed research represents a significant public resource that will support and accelerate future novel studies.

Synbiotics and Fecal Microbiota Transplantation to Treat Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the therapeutic potential of A. soehngenii and pasteurized A. muciniphila combined with B. animalis subsp. lactis and fructo-oligosaccharides with and without conditioned vegan lyophilized fecal microbiota transplantation capsules to reduce NASH in patients with fibrotic NASH. The main questions to answer are: 1. Can NASH be treated by altering the gut microbiota using LFMT capsules? 2. Can NASH be treated using a syntrophic cocktail of synbiotics and will these strains strengthen the effect of FMT? 3. What are the underlying mechanism by which the aforementioned treatments attenuate NASH? Participants will be treated with FMT-capsules or placebo, and all participants will receive a cocktail of 3 strains of probiotics and one type of prebiotic.
