Change in the Proportion of Correct Interpretations of Pulmonary Opacities

This randomized crossover clinical trial will evaluate whether an artificial intelligence-based expert system improves the interpretation of chest radiographs by final-year medical students, rural physicians, and general practitioners with less than two years of clinical experience. Participants will interpret chest radiographs containing normal findings or pulmonary opacities classified as alveolar, interstitial, or mixed. Each participant will review the same set of radiographs twice: once without assistance from the expert system and once with assistance from the artificial intelligence system. The order of these two reading conditions will be randomly assigned, with a six-week interval between sessions to reduce memory effects. The main outcome will be the proportion of correct interpretations compared with a previously established reference standard based on radiologist interpretation supported by chest computed tomography findings. The study will also assess diagnostic confidence and agreement with the reference standard. This study does not involve treatment decisions or direct patient care. It is intended to determine whether artificial intelligence support may improve the accuracy and confidence of less-experienced physicians when interpreting pulmonary opacities on chest radiographs.

Large Language Models for Dental Radiology Report Generation From Structured Textual Data

The purpose of this observational methodological study is to evaluate whether large language models can transform structured dental radiology data into clear narrative radiology reports. Large language models are computer programs that can generate text from information provided to them. In this study, the input will consist of organized dental radiology findings, such as chart-style or diagram-based information about teeth and surrounding structures. Dental radiology reports are used by dentists and other health care providers to understand imaging findings and support clinical documentation. Preparing narrative reports may be time-consuming, and the wording of reports may vary between clinicians. This study will examine whether language-model-assisted report generation can produce reports that are complete, accurate, understandable, and clinically useful. The study will compare reports generated with support from large language models with traditionally prepared reports. Researchers will also assess how the wording of the prompt and selected model parameters influence report quality. In addition, the study will analyze errors and safety risks in generated reports and evaluate whether such a system could be practical in a dental radiology workflow. The language model will not make treatment decisions, and generated reports will be used for research evaluation only.

Time to Healing in Displaced Pediatric Diaphyseal Forearm Fractures Treated With Bioabsorbable Compared to Titanium Intramedullary Nails

This study looks at children with forearm fractures that need surgery. The standard treatment uses titanium nails, which usually need to be removed in a second operation later. This study compares titanium nails with bioabsorbable nails, which gradually dissolve in the body and may help some children avoid another operation. The study will compare how quickly the fractures heal on X-ray, and also look at complications, recovery, function, and the family's experience. Children who need surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments so the comparison is fair. Hypothesis: The researchers expect that fractures treated with bioabsorbable nails will heal almost as quickly as fractures treated with titanium nails, while reducing the need for later implant removal surgery.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a digital education program designed for dental professionals can lead to radiographic examinations of better quality. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the digital education program lead to more radiographic examinations of good quality? Does the digital education program lead to better theoretical and practical understanding regarding image quality among dental professionals? Researchers will compare answers from a theoretical test and image quality in radiographic examinations between participants with respectively without access to the digital education program. Participants will: * have access to the digital education program for three months * after three months all study participants are invited to answer a theoretical test
