Effect of Visual Deprivation of the Team Leader on Team Performance During Simulated Medical Emergencies

This multicenter randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the impact of temporary visual deprivation of the medical team leader on non-technical skills and team performance during high-fidelity simulated medical emergencies. The intervention is based on principles of crisis resource management and cognitive load theory. Team performance will be assessed using validated scoring tools immediately after the intervention and at three months follow-up.

Suzetrigine in Total Hip Arthroplasty

Total hip and knee joint replacements are among the most common and painful orthopedic procedures performed worldwide, often requiring intensive analgesia to support early ambulation and recovery. Despite widespread use of multimodal regimens, many patients still rely on opioids, which can cause sedation, nausea, constipation, and long-term dependency. Evaluating Suzetrigine in this high-need population may improve recovery trajectories, reduce opioid consumption, and support enhanced recovery protocols. Given the growing surgical volume and the emphasis on opioid-sparing strategies, rigorous investigation of Suzetrigine's efficacy in joint replacement is of high clinical value. In this study, patients undergoing primary total hip replacement will be randomized to receive either Suzetrigine or placebo for seven days, with the loading dose administered prior to surgery. The primary outcome is cumulative 48-hour opioid consumption in oral morphine equivalents starting from entry into the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).

Effect of a Myopia Prediction System on Myopia Prevention and Control

The global rise in myopia, particularly among children and adolescents in China, underscores the inadequacy of current prevention strategies, indicating that conventional screening and education alone are insufficient to curb the prevalence. Integrating personalized myopia prediction into routine care may enhance risk awareness, promote proactive prevention, and improve adherence to medical advice, ultimately reducing the future burden of high myopia. A myopia prediction system based on artificial intelligence was previously developed, accurately predicting future high myopia risk using efficient, robust, and easily accessible predictive factors, including age, spherical equivalent, and the annual progression of spherical equivalent. This study aims to conduct a prospective, one-year, cluster randomized controlled clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of this prediction system in preventing and controlling myopia in school-aged children.
