Mother and Offspring's Nutritional Status -Pregnancy After Maternal Bariatric Surgery
The goal of this observational study is to learn how pregnancy after bariatric surgery affects the nutritional status of mothers and their babies. The study will also look at pregnancy complications and the best time to get pregnant after surgery. It includes pregnant women who have had bariatric surgery and compares them to pregnant women who have not had surgery.
The main questions it aims to answer are:
Do women who have had bariatric surgery have more vitamin and mineral deficiencies during pregnancy? Are pregnancy complications like preterm birth or high blood pressure more common after bariatric surgery? Do babies born to mothers who had bariatric surgery have different growth or nutrient levels?
Researchers will compare women with and without bariatric surgery to see if there are differences in:
Nutrient levels in blood and urine Pregnancy outcomes like gestational diabetes or preeclampsia Baby's birth weight, length, and vitamin levels
Participants will:
Give blood and urine samples during pregnancy and after birth Answer questions about their diet and health Have their weight and body composition measured Use a glucose monitor during pregnancy This study will help improve care for women who become pregnant after bariatric surgery.
