TCI-Massage Clinical Trial

The goal of this hybrid implementation-effectiveness study is to learn about the effectiveness and appropriateness of "Trauma-Informed and Culturally-Responsive Integrated Massage Therapy" (TCI-Massage) for torture and war trauma survivors. The study aims are: • Examine the uptake of TCI-Massage within CVT by assessing key implementation science outcomes of acceptability and appropriateness among refugees and asylum seekers from diverse cultural backgrounds. • Examine the integration of massage therapy into the current psychosocial care model used at CVT. • Examine the effectiveness of TCI-Massage for torture and war trauma survivors to reduce distress (mental health symptoms, chronic pain, and HRV) and improve coping (interoceptive awareness and social functioning). Treatment group participants will participate in psychosocial care services + TCI-Massage, which the control group will only participate in psychosocial care services

Project HOPEFUL: A PN-RCT With Implementation Science

This PN-RCT replicates and evaluates an 8-week warm calling treatment (i.e. caring contacts) delivered to older adults receiving home and community-based services (HCBS; classified as "homebound") in 20-30 minute call "dosages", across 3 conditions, while adding in implementation science measures at multiple levels. Conditions include 2 treatment (i.e. treatment provided by helpers trained in a standardized and manualized Belongingness and Empathy training grounded in narrative reminiscence and the befriending literature (BE condition), and treatment provided by helpers trained in BE + a standardized, manualized, and evidence based suicide intervention training, the Aging Variant of LivingWorks ASIST (BE + ASIST condition), and 1 control (no treatment during the trial; opportunity to receive treatment after the 8 weeks). At the conclusion of treatment, acceptability, appropriateness, feasibility, useability, and sustainability of the program will be evaluated by interventionists, senior center leadership, and regional leadership.

Psychological Correlates of Developmental Delays in Preschool Children

The goal of this observational study is to investigate perinatal, cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional correlates of developmental delays of preschool children. The study group consist of minimal 500 children between 3 and 6 years of age who will be examined by qualified diagnosticians. Participants will be evaluated with tasks related to the studied variables: cognitive functioning, linguistic skills and social-emotional functioning. Furthermore informations regarding social-emotional functioning of children, will be collected from parents. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Is there a relationship between perinatal factors and risk of occurrence of developmental delay disorder? 2. Is there a specific pattern of cognitive functioning in preschool children with indicated developmental delay disorder? 3. Is there a specific pattern of social-emotional functioning in preschool children with indicated developmental delay disorder? 4. Do gender and age moderates specific patterns of cognitive and socialemotional functioning in the studied groups? Researchers will compare the following groups of children between 3 and 6 years old: 1. With perinatal risks factors 2. With developmental delay disorder: 1. children with early intervention 2. children with delayed speech development 3. Control group

Hybrid Type 1 Randomized Pilot Trial of a Peer-led Family and Social Strengthening Group Intervention for Refugee Families

The proposed study draws on prior research to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability and explore preliminary effectiveness of Coffee and Family Education and Support, Version (CAFES2) using a pilot randomized type 1 hybrid effectiveness-implementation design. CAFES2 is a peer-led family and social strengthening multiple family group intervention that is designed to respond to multi-level needs of refugee families. Results of the trial will contribute to the emerging evidence base on family-based mental health interventions for refugee and newcomer communities. The trial will also generate new insights regarding implementation strategies needed to promote successful delivery of services by peer providers and the unique role of human-centered design practices for adaptation of mental health and psychosocial interventions.

Characteristics of Injury Claims by Chronic Pain Patients

Chronic pain is associated with injuries and disabilities. This prospective observational study explores the injury or disability claims made by chronic pain patients. It evaluates the socio-demographics of the patient population. It explores the impact of pain clinic services on the patients' injury rehabilitation, insurance claim outcome, and socioeconomic situation.

Pain Clinic Provides Public Health Safety

Chronic pain is associated with psychological disorders; which may affect a patient's socioeconomic, legal, domestic, and employment situations. This prospective observational study evaluates the impact of pain management on patients' health, social, economic, and employment status. It explores the impact of pain clinic services on patients' mental health, family health, public health, road safety, addiction situation, public safety, injury rehabilitation and employment situation.

The PRISM-Social Needs (PRISM-SN) Intervention for Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

The goal of this study is to establish feasibility, acceptability, and proof-of-concept of an psychosocial intervention adapted to address social health needs of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) newly diagnosed with cancer. The aims of this study are to: 1. Determine if the Promoting Resilience in Stress Management - Social Needs (PRISM-SN) adapted intervention is feasible and acceptable, defined via program uptake and retention and patient-reported feedback. 2. Explore whether PRISM-SN improves social outcomes at 12-week follow-up compared to usual care. Participants will be randomized to receive usual psychosocial care or the PRISM-SN program. Participants on both arms will complete patient-reported outcome surveys at enrollment and 12-weeks later. Researchers will compare participants who received the PRISM-SN program to those who received usual care to see if the program improves psychosocial outcomes.

Global Controlled Trial on Effects of an Online Self-Help Program for of Ambitious Altruists on Their Mental Health, Wellbeing, and Productivity: Comparing Versions With IFS vs. CBT, Buddy- vs. Group-, Standard- vs. Minimum-Guidance Intensity.

This study aims to compare different versions of a 16-week online self-help program in terms of their effect on self-assessed mental health, well-being, and productivity. The versions differ in their intensity (standard, low) and type (buddy, group) of guidance, the applied psychotherapeutic approaches taught (IFS, CBT). We expect to recruit a sample of \~150 ambitious altruists and have them self-select into the four program versions. Participants take part in surveys before, at weeks 8, 12, and 16 to self-assess their productivity, mental health burden, quality of life, and other risk and protection factors. Weekly screenings will provide data on objective and subjective success components such as participant engagement, working alliance, and treatment adherence, which will be correlated with primary and secondary outcomes.
