ENROLLING BY INVITATION

NCT07219290

Pulmonary Function by Litter Position

A litter is often needed to extract a person from an austere environment like the wilderness or from confined, urban spaces. A horizontal litter is generally assumed to be better for patient care, but often makes for a more difficult, if not impossible, evacuation from some settings such as confined space rescue, cave rescue, or wilderness rescue when the litter must be moved up or down a cliff with an undercut edge. A litter in a vertical orientation is easier to move in these situations, which may expedite movement towards definitive care. In some wilderness rescue circles, the mantra is that movement IS definitive care. It is already known that lying flat on the ground negatively affects pulmonary function compared to a sitting baseline.1 It is possible that a vertically oriented litter is better for a subset of patients with respiratory issues than a horizontal litter. The investigators hypothesize that pulmonary function measured by FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC, is better in simulated patients in a vertically oriented litter compared to a horizontally oriented one.

Renal and Hepatic Abnormal Doppler Patterns in Trauma

The goal of this observational study is to learn about renal and hepatic blood flow abnormalities detected by bedside ultrasound in adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) following major trauma. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How reliably can trained operators measure renal Doppler and venous congestion scores (RDRI and VExUS) across different hospitals? * How common are abnormal kidney and liver blood flow patterns in major trauma patients during the first 72 hours of ICU admission? * Are these abnormal patterns associated with acute kidney injury or the need for mechanical ventilation? Participants admitted to ICUs or high-dependency units (HDUs) with major trauma (Injury Severity Score \>15) will undergo non-invasive bedside ultrasound assessments at admission and at 24, 48, and 72 hours. No additional treatments or interventions will be given as part of this study. Kidney function will also be checked at 6 months after hospital discharge.

Comparison of EMTRAS, REMS, and GAP Scores in Trauma

The goal of this prospective multicenter cohort study is to evaluate and compare the predictive utility of the EMTRAS, REMS, and GAP scores in determining key outcomes among trauma patients admitted to participating hospitals in Iraq. The primary outcomes of interest include mortality, the need for endotracheal intubation, and length of hospitalization. The main questions it aims to answer are: How accurately do EMTRAS, REMS, and GAP scores predict mortality in trauma patients? How effective are these scores in predicting the need for endotracheal intubation? How well do these scores correlate with hospitalization duration in trauma patients? Participants will: Be assessed using EMTRAS, REMS, and GAP scores upon admission to the emergency department. Have their clinical outcomes, including survival, intubation requirements, and length of hospital stay, monitored throughout their hospitalization.

Assess the Efficacy of Tailored Patient Information and Voluntary Patient-managed Outpatient Digital Follow-up (I-POD) as an Adjunct to Standard Treatment According to National Guidelines in the National Trauma Plan Among Adult Trauma Patients in Norway.

The POSTRAUMA trial is a clinical trial at The Regional trauma centre of Western Norway, Haukeland University Hospital. Trauma is the leading cause of death worldwide in patients aged 1-45 years. In Norway, approximately 10,000 patients are admitted to hospital annually due to trauma, with 66% being male. The mean age is 43 years for male and 48 years for female, indicating a relatively young patient population. While mortality rates are decreasing, a significant proportion of trauma survivors experience long-term disabilities, reduced quality of life, and difficulties in returning to work. These consequences impose substantial burdens on individuals, families, and society. Considering these issues, a shift in focus is needed-from survival alone to long-term functional recovery and quality of life after trauma. Severe trauma often requires long-term follow-up, both physically and psychosocially. Traditional follow-up can be fragmented and not tailored to individual needs. Digital patient monitoring and tailored information have the potential to improve patient pathways, but knowledge about how these are experienced by patients is limited. The goal is to find out if Norwegian trauma patients who receive tailored patient information and patient-managed outpatient digital follow-up, in addition to standard treatment have: * Less disability * Return more often to work * Improved quality of life The study population are Norwegian trauma patients, 16 years or older at date of inclusion, who are admitted to Haukeland University hospital (HUS) following trauma with trauma team activation. 256 patients will be included in this trial. Participants will: * Answer a questionnaire at inclusion, one month, 6 months and 12 months. * Participants in the intervention group will be invited to digital outpatient follow up one month after the accident. * Some participants will be interviewed about how they experienced their trauma follow up.

NCT07208110

Mortality of Trauma in the Intensive Care Unit.

In this study, it was planned to establish the factors associated with severe trauma discharged from the intensive care unit and mortality. A cross-sectional trial will be conducted to review the ICU discharge database at a two-year interval to review records of trauma admissions patients and compare them with other types of admissions. Participant institutions are general hospitals (public and private) from the Colombian Orinoco region. the prevalence of admission by trauma will also be determined.

Airway Approaches of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Physicians in Cervical Neck Trauma Patients in Turkey

Title: Airway Approaches of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Physicians in Cervical Neck Trauma Patients in Turkey: A Survey Study This study aims to evaluate the knowledge, awareness levels, and equipment adequacy of anesthesiology and reanimation physicians in Turkey regarding airway management in cervical neck trauma patients through a 32-question online survey. The findings will inform targeted improvements in training and resource allocation to enhance clinical outcomes in this patient population.
