Dissemination and Implementation of a Web-based Relationship Safety App, myPlanKenya, for Women at Risk for Intimate Partner Violence in Nairobi, Kenya

This effectiveness-implementation hybrid-3 study evaluates dissemination, implementation, and effectiveness of myPlanKenya. myPlanKenya will be disseminated through formal and informal sectors. This clinical trial portion of the study enrolls women at risk for intimate partner violence (IPV) who are referred to myPlanKenya by disseminators (i.e. "end-users"). This trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of myPlanKenya referral on resilience, health and safety among a cohort of women referred to myPlanKenya based on disclosure of IPV or assessed to have IPV related risks.

An Effectiveness Trial of the PrEP for WINGS Study

(Effectiveness Aim 1) To test the comparative effectiveness of PreP for WINGS versus PrEP alone on primary outcomes of increasing PrEP initiation measured by self-report/medical records, recent adherence and longer-term adherence by self-report/medical records over the 6-month follow-up; and secondary outcomes of decreasing IPV, hazardous drinking, recidivism, and HIV risks. (Moderation Aim 2) To test if the effectiveness of WINGS+PrEP on study outcomes is moderated by key participant subgroups based on race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, education, incarceration history, IPV severity, substance use disorders (SUDs), digital access and literacy, housing stability, and medical mistrust.

Responsible Engaged and Loving (REAL) Fathers Intervention Evaluation

The goal of this stepped-wedge cluster randomized control trial is to assess whether a Ugandan community-based intervention for young fathers (ages 18-25 years) of children ages 0-3 years impacts fathers' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors surrounding positive parenting practices, father-child interaction, harsh physical punishment of children, and intimate partner violence.

Trauma Screening/Referral and Interpersonal Violence Prevention for Women with Substance Use Disorders

The purpose of this project is to implement a pilot study to investigate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a peer support specialist delivered violence prevention program for women in substance use treatment. The program entails a posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening, resource referral, and two session interpersonal violence prevention protocol for 60 participants. In this single arm trial, women are recruited from three substance use treatment facilities. Participants complete baseline, post-intervention, one-month, and three-month follow-up assessments. Self-report surveys assess trauma exposure, knowledge and behaviors related to interpersonal violence, and intervention engagement.
