Evaluating the Effectiveness of Print Based Environmental Health Intervention Education Among School Going Adolescents of Karachi, A Quasi Study

This study investigates the impact of school-based educational interventions on adolescents' knowledge and practices related to environmental health in Karachi, Pakistan. The methodology opted for this research is quasi experiment with three months intervention period. The research will begin with a baseline survey to assess adolescents' understanding of environmental health, green spaces, waste management, and associated health impacts. Schools are then engaged in creating and maintaining green spaces and adopting waste management practices. Two intervention arms are implemented: Arm 1 receives educational content through posters, while Arm 2 receives pamphlets. In March, schools are revisited to evaluate the maintenance of cleanliness and green spaces. Finally, in April, a post-intervention survey will be conducted to measure changes in knowledge and eco-friendly practices. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of posters versus pamphlets in enhancing knowledge and sustaining environmental practices among adolescents, thereby contributing to evidence-based strategies for promoting environmental health education in urban school settings.

The Effect of Podcast Use on Waste Management on Nursing Students'

This study will be conducted to measure the effect of podcast use on waste management on nursing students' knowledge and satisfaction. The study was planned as a randomized controlled pretest-posttest study. The study sample will consist of 100 first-year students (50: Control; 50: Intervention) enrolled in the 2025-2026 Spring semester at Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Nursing. The study is planned to be conducted in February-March 2026 during the Spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. Data will be collected from first-year nursing students in a face-to-face classroom setting. Data will be collected using a "Personal Information Form," a "Waste Management Knowledge Test," and a "Satisfaction with Teaching Methods Survey." The data obtained from the study will be analyzed in a computer environment using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 22.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Data will be evaluated using descriptive statistics. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test will be used to assess data for normal distribution. If data are normally distributed, the Independent Samples t-test will be used to compare two independent groups, the Paired Samples t-test will be used to compare two dependent groups, and the Pearson correlation will be used to compare the relationships between scales. If data are not normally distributed, the Mann-Whitney U test will be used to compare two groups.

Educational Competition for Waste Management in Nursing Students

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of training nursing students on waste management through an educational competition method on their knowledge and satisfaction levels compared to the traditional method. During the training process, students will learn the correct classification of waste and reinforce this knowledge in a practical competition environment. The study is designed in a randomized controlled experimental design and experimental and control groups will be compared. Data collection tools will include "Student Introductory Information Form," "Knowledge Level Test" and "Student Satisfaction Evaluation Form." As a result of the study, it is expected that the educational competition method will increase the level of knowledge and satisfaction of nursing students about waste management compared to the traditional education method. This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of educational competition as an innovative method in educational approaches for nursing students.
