Work Design Interventions for Older Workers During Consecutive Days in the Heat

The goal of this project is to compare different ways to schedule a workday to see if older workers should follow a specific work protocol to reduce strain on the heart and muscles across two consecutive days of work. Participants will come to the lab a total of six times. During four of the visits participants will complete a box carrying task, simulating unloading a delivery truck. This will take place in a hot and humid room to simulate being outdoors during the summer.

Effectiveness of the Healthy Workplace Participatory Program with Peer-led Teams in Public Sector Healthcare Facilities

Safety \& Health through Integrated, Facilitated Teams (SHIFT) is an intervention study to enhance employee health, safety, and well-being in public sector healthcare institutions in New England. The investigators will evaluate the effectiveness of an adapted form of the Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW) Healthy Workplace Participatory Program (HWPP) for strengthening cohesiveness, engagement, and impact of pre-existing joint labor-management health and safety committees. The sites are enrolled in three pairs, matched by agency and type of services. For each pair of sites, one will be randomly selected for immediate HWPP coaching. The paired organization will serve as a control until the study mid-point, at which time all sites will be coached. Process evaluations will examine barriers to and facilitators of program uptake, reach, and effectiveness. Survey data and injury records will be examined in intervention and control groups to describe the frequencies of workplace and non-occupational exposures of selected health outcomes.

Health in Work - a Measure for Increased Coping and Work Inclusion

Health in work - a measure for increased coping and work participation -An effect analysis of a health- and work environment intervention at the workplace. Part 1:quantitative data collection The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of the workplace intervention in the new Norwegian national programme Health in work (HelseIArbeid) through a pragmatic cluster-randomized study. The main hypothesis is that this interdisciplinary health and welfare intervention at the workplace reduces sick leave and improves mastering of common health problems more efficiently than a conventional welfare intervention. More specifically, it is hypothesized that the Health in work intervention has a better cost-effectiveness in terms of sick leave, use of health services and coping with common health problems indicated by an increased health-related quality of life.

Work Time Schedule Changes for Nurse Managers

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore how working a 4-day schedule impacts nurse manager wellbeing and job performance. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do those working 4-days have improved wellbeing with reduced levels of burnout and work/family conflict when compared to those in the control group? * Do levels of sleep, heart rate variability, and physical activity significantly differ between those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? * Are nurse manager satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and patient quality outcomes different among those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? Researchers will compare those working the 4-day schedule change to those working the standard 5-day schedule to determine causality between the intervention and the outcomes. Participants will: * Complete an initial visit to learn about the study. * Begin wearing an OURA ring, which will collect data on physical activity, sleep, and heart rate variability. They will need to download the Oura Ring app on their phone and log in weekly to sync data so that the researchers may access it. * Complete the first survey on the online REDCap platform (baseline). * Begin the work schedule that was assigned to them. * Clock in and out of work each shift. * Take the follow-up survey online (month 3). * Take the final survey online (month 6).

Mind Nutrition Study. Effectiveness of Improving Nutrition on Depressive Symptoms and Work Ability

The goal of this randomized, controlled trial is to examine the effectiveness of dietary counseling on depressive symptoms, work ability, and quality of life in mental health and substance abuse professionals. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Whether dietary counseling can lower depressive symptoms and depressive symptoms-related sick leave days and improve work ability among mental health and substance abuse professionals * Whether dietary counseling can improve life quality, diet quality, and eating behavior among mental health and substance abuse professionals. Subjects of the intervention group will participate in five dietary counseling sessions during six months. Participants in the control group do not receive any intervention. Researchers will compare the intervention and control groups to see if dietary counseling is effective in reducing the risk of depressiveness and depression-related sick leave days and improving work ability, quality of life, and nutritional habits.
