Developing Competency Awareness and Clinical Coordination in a Neonatal Unit

In neonatal care, patient safety depends not only on individual clinical skills, but also on how teams recognize and use the competencies available during a shift. When staff are uncertain about who is able to perform specific tasks, coordination can become difficult, and responsibilities may be unevenly distributed. This study examines a structured intervention in a neonatal unit aimed at supporting the development of clinical competencies and increasing staff awareness of each other's capabilities. The intervention combines competency mapping, facilitated reflection, simulation-based activities, and ongoing dialogue with clinical coordinators to support everyday coordination and task allocation. The study uses a mixed-methods design, including questionnaires and qualitative data, to explore how the intervention is implemented in practice and whether it contributes to changes in staff experiences of competence, collaboration, and confidence in clinical work.

The INSPIRE Study: INvestigation of Swiss Physicians Inner-life, Resilience, and Emotions

The goal of this clinical trial, nested within an observational cohort study, is to evaluate whether two positive psychology web-based interventions can reduce emotional exhaustion and improve overall well-being in practicing physicians in Switzerland. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does participation in positive psychology interventions reduce emotional exhaustion at three months post-intervention? How do these interventions impact physician wellness, job satisfaction, comfort with end-of-life communication and other aspects of physicians' emotional well-being? Researchers will compare the effects of two intervention arms (general reflection vs. work-specific reflection) to a control group to determine whether focusing on work-specific aspects leads to greater improvements in emotional exhaustion and job-related outcomes. Participants will: * Complete an 8-day intervention consisting of positive psychology activities delivered online. * Complete baseline and follow-up assessments over the study period

The PREGNANT (Pregnant Resident Empowerment, GuidaNce, and Advocacy iN Training) Coaching Project

This is a mixed-methods study designed to develop and evaluate an innovative coaching program for physician trainee mothers. Approximately 48 participants will be recruited from informational flyers posted in resident work areas and distributed by program directors and GME. Interested participants will email study staff. Participants will be randomized to the control or intervention arm. Intervention participants will meet monthly with a novice physician coach of their choice (one-on-one) and a certified physician coach (with an assigned group of 6 peers through video-conferencing). Participants in both arms of the study will respond to surveys at three points: enrollment (baseline), 4 months, and 7 months. At each point, they will spend approximately 10 minutes filling the survey. The survey will query demographics, burnout, professional fulfillment, imposter phenomenon, self-valuation, self-efficacy, resilience, quality of life, and impact of work on professional relationships. The coaching intervention will last 4 months, and the 7 month survey will be used only to assess long-term effects of the intervention. At the conclusion of the study (7 months after enrollment), participants will be interviewed over video communication (secure Partners or Harvard Zoom) for approximately 30 minutes.

Supervision in Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs

Substance use disorders such as opioid addiction affect millions of adults in the United States each year, but the delivery of high-quality, effective addiction services is disrupted by organizational issues such as counselor burnout and turnover. Clinical supervisors are essential for supporting counselors in specialty addiction treatment programs, but few supervisors receive supervision-focused training. This project seeks to develop and pilot an evidence-based supervision strategy that has a high potential to enhance supervision and result in improved counselors' well-being and performance and, in turn, to improve client outcomes.

Evaluating the Impact of Resource Navigators to Support LTC and RH Staff During and Beyond COVID-19

The goal of this clinical trial is to test how well resource navigators help long-term care and retirement home staff access the various health and wellness resources available to them and the effects that this has on their health and wellness overall. The main questions it aims to answer are: \- How does one-on-one support from a resource navigator affect the wellness of long-term care and retirement home staff, including burnout, vaccination status, and COVID-19 infection? Researchers will compare participants in the intervention group (where participants are paired with a resource navigator) and the control group (where participants are not paired with a resource navigator) to see the impact access to a resource navigator has on wellness (primary outcome), burnout, knowledge of, access to and use of wellness resources, knowledge/alignment with provincial public health guidelines related to SARS-CoV-2 vaccine outcomes, SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospitalization, and death (secondary outcomes). Hypothesis: Researchers anticipate that those in the intervention group (have access to a resource navigator) will report a higher positive change in wellness between baseline and 6 months.

Well-being in Students and Teachers Study

The goal of this randomized trial is to test the effectiveness of two universal classroom-based mindfulness social and emotional learning (SEL) programs (one for students and one for teachers) by examining behavioral outcomes on 5th and 6th grade students and their teachers. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What are the singular and combined effects of a mindfulness-based SEL education programs for teachers and their students on the development of students' and their teachers' social, emotional, and cognitive competence, and well-being? * Can mindfulness-based SEL education programs for students and teachers foster the creation of caring, inclusive, equitable, and collaborative classroom contexts? * Can mindfulness-based SEL education programs support the development of students' and teachers' prosocial attitudes, mindsets that positively impact student learning? * Are the effects durable beyond the end of the programs with regard to the singular and combined mindfulness-based SEL interventions? A total of 24 classrooms will be randomized into one of three study conditions: 1. Mindfulness SEL program for Educators only 2. Mindfulness SEL program for Educators and Mindfulness SEL program for Students in combination, and 3. "Business as usual" (comparison groups in which regular classroom SEL curricula is implemented). Data will be obtained via multiple objective and subjective methods (e.g., self- and teacher-reports, peer behavioral assessments) from different sources (e.g., self-, peer-, and teacher-reports). Data will also be collected to monitor implementation of the two programs. To explore the ways in which these two programs impact student, teacher, and classroom outcomes, data will be analyzed to compare students and teachers in the three conditions. In Phase One (year one), the investigators will conduct an experimental "outcome" study to examine the singular and combined effects of the two programs by comparing pre-test and post-test measures across the three conditions. In Phase Two (year two), the investigators will conduct a six-month follow up with those teachers and students who participated in Phase One in order to determine the degree to which the program effects are durable after the program has ended.
