A Clinical Study to Evaluate the Effect and Side Effect of a New Artificial Tear Formulation (ABBV-444) Compared to Refresh Optive Unit Dose in Adult Participants With Dry Eye Disease

Dry Eye Disease (DED) refers to a long-term condition that happens when there is not enough lubrication in your eyes. This can happen when your eye cannot make enough tears or if you make poor-quality tears. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of a new artificial tear formulation (ABBV-444) with Refresh Optive UD for 90 days in participants with Dry Eye Disease (DED. ABBV-444 is being developed for the treatment of Dry Eye Disease (DED). Participants will be placed into 1 of 2 treatment arms. Each group receives different treatment. Adult participants diagnosed with dry eye disease will be enrolled. Around 250 participants will be enrolled in the study at approximately 20 sites across the US In this study, participants first complete a 7-day run-in period using REFRESH PLUS® eye drops. Those eligible are then randomized to receive ABBV-444 eye drops or REFRESH OPTIVE® Unit Dose eye drops. Participants in both arms will receive treatment for a 90-day treatment period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend multiple required study visits during the study at the study site. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments and questionnaires.

Perfluorohexyloctane eye drops is the only drug in China approved for treating Dry Eye Disease (DED) related to Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), its efficacy and safety in the clinical practice of treating DED related to MGD in the real world, whether in combination with or without various other treatment methods (other drugs or physical therapy) , remain to be explored. This study aims to collect data on the treatment of DED related to MGD with perfluorohexyloctane under real medical conditions. Through analysis, it seeks to obtain clinical evidence of the product's application value and potential benefits or risks, providing evidence for the treatment of DED elated to MGD with perfluorohexyloctane under real medical conditions.

A Study on the Correlation Between Tear Iron Levels and the Severity of Dry Eye Disease.

This study aims to see if the amount of iron in tears is linked to how severe dry eye disease is. We hope this can lead to a new way to help diagnose and understand dry eye. This is an observational study. We will compare tear samples from people with dry eye to samples from people with healthy eyes. We will measure the iron content in the tears and see if it correlates with standard dry eye test results and symptom scores.

Vit-A-Vision® Clinical Investigation

Symptoms of ocular discomfort include dryness, burning, stinging, photophobia, foreign body sensation and contact lens intolerance. These symptoms may affect basic daily activities, such as reading, driving, and working with computers. In case of moderate to severe conditions, dry eye disease is also associated with significant pain. Dry eye disease (DED) affects hundreds of millions of people throughout the world and is one of the most frequent causes of patient visits to eye care practitioners. Diagnosing, staging and determining the efficacy of therapy in DED is often challenging due to low correlation between signs and symptoms. Furthermore, its management is complicated because of its multifactorial aetiology. In general, management approaches begin with conventional, low-risk and easily accessible patient-applied therapies such as over-the-counter lubricants for early-stage disease, and progress to more advanced therapies for more severe forms of DED. In this regard, tear supplementation with ocular lubricants (artificial tears) is considered the first-line therapy and is often the only therapy used in mild to moderate disease. They are used in all stages of dry eye, either alone (in mild to moderate disease) or in combination with other treatments (in moderate to severe disease). Most tear supplements act as lubricants. Other actions may include replacement of deficient tear constituents, dilution of proinflammatory substances, reduction of tear osmolarity and protection against osmotic stress. A wide variety of artificial tear products is currently available. These products differ with respect to several variables, that include electrolyte composition, osmolarity/osmolality, viscosity, the presence or absence of preservatives and the presence or absence of compatible solutes. Although they are all considered as standard of care in treatment of dry eye disease, the effects of many of the available products have not been evaluated in clinical investigations. Vit-A-Vision is an ointment for ophthalmic application that relieves symptoms such as burning, irritation, slight irritation, dryness or tiredness of the eyes.

Efficacy of Lipid-containing Artificial Tears in the Treatment of Dry Eye

This clinical study involves patients with Dry Eye Disease (DED) who are visiting an ophthalmology outpatient clinic. Eligible participants must have an Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) score ≥14 and \<50, and at least one positive diagnostic test: tear break-up time (TBUT) \<7 seconds, Schirmer I test \<10 mm/5 min, or positive corneal staining based on the Oxford grading scale. At baseline, tear film thickness will be measured using Pentacam imaging. Participants will then receive Proluxx eye spray, applied four times daily for 28 days. After this treatment period, a follow-up examination with all baseline assessments will be repeated.

Effect of Artificial Tears on Ocular Biometry Parameters

Due to the instability of the tear film, the biometry often needs to be done multiple times in a clinical environment. The high variability of both short-term and long-term repeatability in keratometry of dry eyes is well-known. Consequently, enhancing the condition of the eye surface in individuals with dry eyes will result in improved precision when choosing the power of intraocular lenses (IOLs). iTear Single-center, Open-label, Single-arm Study

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a device, iTEAR100 Neurostimulator (the device), which is designed to help people with Dry Eye Disease (DED) who are not satisfied with using artificial tears. The study will last three months and take place at one location. Thirty participants will use the iTEAR100 Neurostimulator, which stimulates the outside of the nose to help with dry eye symptoms. Participants will have three main visits: one at the start (Day 0), one after 30 days (Day 30), and one at the end of the study (Day 90). For the first 30 days, they will use the device twice a day for 30 seconds on each side of the nose. After that, they will use it as needed for the next 60 days. Before starting the treatment, participants will undergo tests to measure their initial eye condition. The effectiveness of the device will be checked by comparing these baseline measurements to those taken on Day 30 and Day 90. Participants will also fill out a questionnaire about their eye symptoms on Day 14. The main measure of success is how much the participants' symptoms improve on the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) from Day 0 to Day 30. Other measures include changes in tear production, tear quality, and eye health from Day 0 to Days 30 and 90. Participants' safety will be monitored by tracking any adverse events (side effects) throughout the study.
