Smartphone-Guided Paced Breathing and Aerobic Exercise for Essential Hypertension

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and is associated with reduced functional capacity and impaired quality of life. Non-pharmacological interventions, including aerobic exercise and paced breathing, may improve blood pressure control by enhancing cardiovascular and autonomic function. This randomized controlled trial will evaluate whether combining smartphone-guided paced breathing with aerobic exercise provides greater benefits than either intervention alone in adults with essential hypertension. Seventy-five participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: (1) smartphone-guided paced breathing combined with aerobic exercise, (2) aerobic exercise alone, or (3) smartphone-guided paced breathing alone. The intervention will last 12 weeks. The primary outcome measures are systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Secondary outcome measures include heart rate, functional capacity assessed by the 6-Minute Walk Test, and health-related quality of life assessed using the Short Form-12 (SF-12) questionnaire. The findings of this study may help identify an effective, accessible, and low-cost non-pharmacological strategy for improving cardiovascular health and quality of life in patients with essential hypertension.

Evaluating the Effects of a Mindfulness Intervention on Health Outcomes in Individuals With Hypertension

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of adding the Mindfulness in Motion (MIM) program to usual primary care for people with high blood pressure. MIM is a facilitated, 8-week online program that teaches simple ways to manage stress using mindfulness practices. The program also includes the use of a companion smartphone app throughout the 12-month study period. In this study, investigators will compare people who receive their usual care and take part in the MIM program with those who receive usual care alone to see if it helps improve blood pressure, weight, stress, sleep, and overall well-being. Over 12 months, participants will be asked to complete short questionnaires about stress, sleep, and resilience four times via a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Effect of Electrical Stimulation and Exercise on Blood Flow in Patients With Resistant High Blood Pressure

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the combination between transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and isometric exercise (IE) can improve blood pressure in men and women between 50 to 60 years old suffered from resistant hypertension which is a type of hypertension where blood pressure remains above your target goal despite the use of three or more different classes of antihypertensive medications at their maximum tolerated doses. The main question to answer is: Is there a significant effect on the combined use of TENS and IE on peripheral hemodynamic parameters in patients with resistant hypertension? Total sample will be 50 patients from both sexes I will compare between two groups: Experimental group (15 men, 10 women) will take: medication plus IE and TENS Control group (15 men, 10 women) will take: medication plus Conventional Physical Therapy Program
