Reflex Excitability in Post-stroke Stiff-Knee Gait

The purpose of this study is to examine the reflex excitability of the rectus femoris in individuals with and without post-stroke Stiff-Knee gait. We use electrical stimulation of the peripheral nerve innervating the rectus femoris for a well-controlled reflex stimulus. We are investigating whether reflex excitability of the rectus femoris correlates with gait kinematics.

Implant for Walking After Stroke

This is a device study that will evaluate the effect of an implanted stimulator on improving walking in stroke survivors. There are two phases in the study: 1) Screening - this phase determines if the individual is a good candidate to receive an implanted system, 2) Implantation, controller development, and evaluation - this phase includes installing the device and setting the individual up for home use, creating advanced controllers for walking and evaluating the effect of the device over several months.

Focused Intensive Repeated Stepping During Inpatient Rehabilitation Poststroke - A Quality Improvement Project

The purpose of this quality improvement project was first to monitor usual physical therapy care (types \& cardiovascular intensity of interventions and amount of stepping practice provided) and outcomes. Following which educational training and support was provided to treating physical therapists to encourage implementation of evidence-based practices. Specifically, therapists were encouraged to prioritize the practice of walking, particularly at higher cardiovascular intensities during scheduled therapy sessions. Fidelity metrics in the form of chart audits and pedometer-based step counts were utilized to determine compliance with the evidence-based intervention and ultimately investigated for potential effects on patient outcome measures.

Robotic Exoskeleton Assisted Gait Post Stroke

The current investigation takes advantage of both a progressive and adaptive assist-as-needed massed practice and time-sensitive neuroplasticity through exoskeleton assisted walking in order to induce greater recovery-oriented CNS plasticity and consequent gains in more independent walking.

Gait Analysis in Patients With Hemiplegia Using Insole Splint.

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the gait of patients with hemiplegia, with or without the use of insole splint. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the insole splint improve the gait of these patients? Does any difference exist in the use of muscles? Participants will have to walk in the gait analysis' aisle with and without the insole splint, using wireless EMG device.

Effectiveness and Safety of At-home Gait Rehabilitation Using Wearable Exoskeletal Robot

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a home-based robotic-assisted gait rehabilitation service using a wearable exoskeletal robot for stroke patients. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Can home-based robotic-assisted gait training improve walking speed in stroke patients? * Does this intervention enhance body composition, gait patterns, balance in participants? * How satisfied are participants with the use of the wearable exoskeletal robot ? Researchers will compare pre- and post-intervention walking speeds, body composition, spatiotemporal parameters, balance, and satisfaction survey and does not establish a control group. Participants will: * Wear a wearable exoskeletal robot for gait training. * Undergo 10 sessions of 30-minute gait training over 4 weeks at home or in nearby indoor spaces. * Participate in physical function assessments including the 10-meter walk test, Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, and Berg Balance Scale before and after the intervention. * Complete quality of life and depression inventories before and after the intervention.

Proof of Concept of Hybrid Robotics for Gait Rehabilitation of Persons Post-stroke

Persons post-stroke suffer from hemiparesis affecting the functional abilities of the controlesional lower limb. Improving walking is therefore a primary rehabilitation goal for such patients. Robotic-Assisted Rehabilitation (RAR, e.g. exoskeletons) and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) are promising techniques to facilitate the functional recovery after stroke. allowing benefits to be maintained over long term.
