Effect of Glycemic Control on Intraoperative NIRS and Postoperative Recovery in Diabetic Patients
This prospective observational study aims to evaluate the effect of glycemic control level on intraoperative cerebral oxygenation measured by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and postoperative recovery in patients with diabetes mellitus undergoing elective urologic surgery under general anesthesia. Patients will be grouped according to HbA1c levels to assess the relationship between long-term glycemic control and intraoperative regional cerebral oxygen saturation, hemodynamic parameters, and postoperative recovery scores.

How a Mediterranean Diet With Potatoes Impacts Heart and Metabolic Health in Adults With Pre-Diabetes
The goal of this clinical trial is to is to determine the effects of baked potato with the skin (BP) + nutrition education focused on adherence for a Mediterranean Dietary Pattern (MEDNE) on glycemic control, cardiometabolic health, and dietary quality in individuals with pre-diabetes from different demographic backgrounds. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does BP+MEDNE contribute to improvements in indices of glycemic control, vascular function, blood lipids, inflammation/oxidative stress, and body composition? * Does BP+MEDNE contribute to improvements to overall dietary intake and quality? Researchers will compare BP+MEDNE to MEDNE alone to see if BP+MEDNE can improve glycemic control, cardiometabolic health, and dietary quality in individuals with pre-diabetes from different demographic backgrounds. Participants will: * Be asked to come to the study site initially for a Screening Study Visit to confirm eligibility. * Be asked to come the study site for a Pre-Baseline and Pre-12-Week Study Visit (one week prior to Baseline and 12-Week Study Visits) for placement of placement of a continuous glucose monitor and wearable devices to be removed at Baseline and 12-Week Study Visits. * Be asked to come to the study site for Baseline, 6- and 12-Week Study Visits for assessments of glycemic control and cardiometabolic health. * Be asked to complete 3-Day Food Records throughout the 12 week study period for assessment of dietary quality (5 total) * Receive pre-recorded MEDNE ( which can be accessed via computer device/ipad/smartphone) after Baseline and 6-Week Study Visits. * If randomized to the BP+MEDNE group, participants will receive pre-prepared baked potatoes with the skin for the 12-week study period (every 3 weeks) at Baseline and 6-Week Study Visits and asked to come to the study site for picking up the pre-prepared baked potatoes at weeks 3 and 9 of the study period.

Ultra-processed Food Reducing Intervention and Continuous Glucose Monitoring
The goal of this trial is to investigate whether reduction in ultra-processed food intake through diet counseling and education can improve postprandial glucose levels and glycemic variability among Korean healthy adults aged 20-30 years. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the reduction in ultra-processed food intake lower postprandial glucose levels and glycemic variability in healthy adults without a history of diabetes? * Does the reduced intake in different ultra-processed food subgroups and items differentially influence postprandial glucose and glycemic variability? * Does other dietary and lifestyle factors (physical activity, sleep, smoking) alter the association between ultra-processed food intake reduction and glycemic variability? Participants will: * Undergo the 10-day pre-intervention monitoring period, during which each participant will wear a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device and concurrently report their daily dietary intakes (all food and beverage consumptions) and other lifestyle behaviors (sleep, smoking, physical activity) * After the 10-day pre-intervention monitoring period, participants will be randomized to either intervention or control group * Intervention group: Participants will visit the research site to receive dietitian-led nutrition education and personalized diet counseling targeting reduction of ultra-processed food intake, as well as improving diet quality. Personalized diet counseling will be provided by study dietitian based on participant's records of dietary intakes during the 10-day pre-intervention monitoring period. * Control group: Participants will receive dietitian-led nutrition education and personalized diet counseling targeting general improvement in nutrient intake (based on the national dietary guidelines). * After the intervention, participants will undergo the 10-day post-intervention monitoring period, during which participants will wear a new CGM device for an additional 10 days and continue daily reporting of dietary intakes (all food and beverage consumptions) and lifestyle behaviors (sleep, smoking, physical activity).

Impact of PharmaTE Trial on Glycemic Control, Diabetes Knowledge, Medication Adherence and Quality of Life in Type 2 Diabetes Patients: A Mixed-Method Study Protocol
The goal of this clinical trial is to find out whether a pharmacist-led tele-educational program (PharmaTE trial) can help people with type 2 diabetes manage their condition better. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. Does the PharmaTE trial improve blood sugar control (HbA1c levels)? 2. Does it help patients better understand their condition? 3. Does it increase how well patients follow their medication schedule? 4. Does it improve the quality of life for patients with type 2 diabetes? 5. Is this type of tele-education program feasible and acceptable for patients? Participants will: Be randomly placed into one of two groups: Intervention group: Receive five virtual education sessions with a clinical pharmacist over the phone or via Zoom (each lasting 20-30 minutes), in addition to their usual diabetes care. Control group: Continue receiving standard diabetes care from their healthcare team without the additional pharmacist-led sessions. Complete assessments at the beginning and end of the study. These include: A blood test for HbA1c , Questionnaires on diabetes knowledge, medication adherence, and quality of life Some participants in the intervention group will be invited for interviews after the sessions to share their experiences and opinions about the program. Who can join? Adults aged 18-65 with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes (HbA1c \> 7%), receiving care at Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital in Ras Al-Khaimah, who speak Arabic and can provide consent.

Assessments of Metabolic Responses to Acute Oral Administration of Sucrose, Glucose, and Fructose
This project aims to compare the acute metabolic effects of the three sweeteners sucrose, glucose, and fructose on GI hormones (GLP-1, PYY, CCK, and ghrelin). Furthermore, glycemic control, erythritol and xylitol concentrations, blood coagulation function , blood lipids, uric acid, high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), complete blood count, gastric emptying, appetite-related sensations, and GI symptoms will be investigated.
