Study of New Magnetic Resonance Imaging Methods of the Brain
The purpose of this investigation is to develop improved magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and hardware for studying brain function. MRI is a diagnostic tool that provides information about brain chemistry and physiology. This study will evaluate new MRI methods for monitoring blood flow to regions of the brain in response to simple tasks. The MRI machine used in this study is more powerful than those in most hospitals, permitting a higher visual resolution. Normal healthy volunteers over 18 years old may be eligible for this study. Candidates will be screened with a medical history and questionnaire, and a neurological examination. Study participants will have a yearly MRI scan. For this procedure, the subject lies on a stretcher that is moved into a donut-shaped machine with a strong magnetic field. A lightweight circular or rectangular coil-a device that improves the quality of the images-may be placed on the head. The scan time varies from 20 minutes to 3 hours; most scans last between 45 and 90 minutes. During the scan, the subject may perform simple tasks, such as listening to tapes, tapping a finger, moving a hand, watching a screen, or smelling a fragrance. More complex tasks may require thinking about tones or pictures and responding to them by pressing buttons. Information from this study will be used to develop better imaging methods that will, in turn, permit a greater understanding of normal and abnormal brain behaviors.

Kinetics of Urinary Excretion of Gadolinium Contrast Agents Used in MRI Examinations
This is a single-center cohort study aimed to describe the urinary excretion kinetics of gadolinium contrast agents (Gd-CAs). Patients with a prescription for injected MRI are invited to participate in the study. If they agree, blood and urine samples are collected before Gd-CAs injection, and urine samples are collected between 0- and two-and-a-half-hours post-injection of Gd-CAs.

Hysteroscopic Evaluation and the Clinical Outcomes of Vaginal Repair of Cesarean Section Scar Defects
Cesarean section scar defects (CSDs) are one of the long-term complications following cesarean section. They can be detected by transvaginal sonography, hysterosalpingography, sonohysterography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Hysteroscopy is frequently used in evaluating endometrial disease. However, the description of CSDs by hysteroscopy is very limited. Only a few papers about hysteroscopy evaluation have been published. This is an exploratory study to compare hysteroscopic findings with the clinical outcomes of vaginal repair of CSDs.

Novel Hypoxia Imaging for Head and Neck Cancer: Imaging Phenotype for Personalized Treatment
Tumor hypoxia is one of the physiological factors for treatment resistance and likely contributes to poor overall survival among patients with head and neck cancer (HNC). Identifying hypoxic features of HNC may allow the personalizing treatment plan. The investigators propose multiparametric Hypoxia MR (HMR) imaging using diffusion, perfusion, and oxygenation as non-invasive, in-vivo imaging components of a hypoxia phenotype. Assessing the hypoxia phenotypes' expression will be critically important for characterizing and predicting CRT response among patients with advanced HNC. A prospective cohort study will be conducted used multiparametric MR (MPMR) imaging correlated with treatment response assessed by 3 months fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET). The image analysis approach will be developed to incorporate FDG-PET and quantitative MRI characteristics of tumor (ADC, oxygen-enhanced T1 and T2\* maps, and volume transfer constant (Ktrans) to facilitate 3D visualization of multiparametric information. This proposed study's overarching goal is to develop and validate multiparametric HMR imaging using 18F - (fluoromisonidazole) FMISO-PET and immunohistochemistry (IHC) as the standard of references.

Effects of Ketogenic Diet on Alcohol Intoxication
The research study is being conducted to better understand the effects of ketosis on brain functioning and the acute effects of alcohol. Participants will be asked to undergo \~4 weeks of ketogenic diet intervention. The study involves three lab visits: Lab 1 before starting the diet, Lab 2 after about 2 weeks after starting the diet, and Lab 3 after being on the diet for 4 weeks. All of the labs will include an alcohol tolerance test, and blood draws. Lab 1 and Lab 3 will also include an Magnetic resonance imaging scan. Due to scheduling, study procedures at 2 and 4 weeks may occur +/- 3 days. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain will measure levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) (a coenzyme that is important for energy metabolism), lactate (a metabolite produced during energy metabolism), and neurotransmitters glutamate and GABA. Alcohol tolerance will be tested using a dose of alcohol (approximately 4-5 alcohol beverages) to will elevate breath alcohol levels to approximately 0.08% to measure the acute effects of alcohol. Blood samples will be collected to measure varying metabolites.

A Neonatal Bimodal MR-CT Head Template
This is a retrospective study based on the images contained in the database of the University Hospital of Amiens. There is no further examination. Electroencephalography (EEG) and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS). These sources are widely used to specify the source of certain evoked potentials or to better define the sources of epileptic graphoelements, especially in the pre-surgical assessment of refractory epilepsies. It is therefore important that these regions are more widely available in the constitution of the world, and that they are suitable for use in the design of new technologies. Although MRI is the gold standard for soft tissue segmentation, it is not suitable for bone extraction; especially in the newborn or the bone is very thin. On the other hand, CTscan is an excellent method for extracting bone. The contrast between bone and soft tissue is excellent. In this case, with the CTscan, the fontanelles are identified as discontinuities between the images of the temporal scales.

Neurocognitive Mechanisms Underlying Smartphone-Assisted Prevention of Relapse in Opioid Use Disorder
The proposed clinical trial would evaluate the use of smartphone applications ("apps", which have well-established efficacy in reducing cigarette and alcohol use) to prevent relapse among patients receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. In addition to standard app-based self-monitoring of drug use and personalized feedback, project innovation is enhanced by the proposed use of location-tracking technology for targeted, personalized intervention when participants enter self-identified areas of high risk for relapse. Furthermore, the proposed sub-study would use longitudinal functional neuroimaging to elucidate the brain-cognition relationships underlying individual differences in treatment outcomes, offering broad significance for understanding and enhancing the efficacy of this and other app-based interventions.

Cognitive Changes and Neural Correlates After Rehabilitation of Masticatory Function in Elderly -an Intervention Study
Today in elderly tooth loss and loss of oral function is widespread, but it is an underexplored modifiable risk factor potentially contributing to the development of dementia. In this interventional study a "cause-effect" relationship between mastication and cognition in humans will be investigated. A total of eighty (80) participants, 65-80 years of age, indicated for prosthodontic rehabilitation will be randomly assigned to either the experimental or the control group. Participants will be randomized into two different groups, measurements are going to be conducted before and after prosthetic rehabilitation. The difference between the two groups is that the control group are going to do two measurements before undergoing the rehabilitation, this to control for the test-re-test effect. The aim with this study is to determine if the rehabilitation of chewing function will cause changes in the neurocognitive assessments of episodic memory and learning.

Ketamine Alcohol (in Treatment-Resistant Depression)
A single subanesthetic dose infusion of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist ketamine has rapid and robust antidepressant effects in patients with treatment-refractory major depressive disorder (TRD). A family history of an alcohol use disorder (Family History Positive, FHP) is one of the strongest identified predictors of an improved antidepressant response to ketamine. Like ketamine, alcohol is a functional NMDA receptor antagonist. FHP is associated with differential response to ketamine, e.g. blunted psychotomimetic side effects. One of the primary mechanistic hypotheses for ketamine's antidepressant action is the acute intrasynaptic release of glutamate from major output neurons, e.g. cortical pyramidal cells. Preliminary clinical studies have demonstrated this acute glutamate "surge" in response to subanesthetic dose ketamine. Based on these findings, the investigators hypothesize that ketamine's enhanced antidepressant efficacy in FHP TRD subjects is, at least in part, attributable to increased glutamate release relative to TRD subjects without a family history of alcohol use disorder (Family History Negative, FHN). To test this hypothesis, the investigators have designed a now two-site, open-label study of 18-55-year-old medically and neurologically healthy, currently moderately-to-severely depressed TRD patients. In total, the investigators plan to recruit 25 FHP and 25 FHN TRD subjects. All subjects must not have a current substance use disorder (except nicotine or caffeine). The experimental portion consists of two phases. The preliminary first phase is a medication taper (if needed) and psychotropic medication-free period. The experimental second phase comprises one subanesthetic dose (0.5mg/kg x 40 minute) ketamine infusion. The ketamine infusion will occur during 7T-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), both resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to detect glutamate in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex/ventral anterior cingulate cortex (vmPFC/vACC). The primary outcome measure is group mean change in Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) score from pre-ketamine infusion (baseline) to one-week post-infusion, where the investigators observed ketamine's greatest antidepressant effect in FHP TRD. Additional outcome measures are vmPFC/vACC glutamate change in response to ketamine based on family history status. In summary, this study will provide key mechanistic information on ketamine's improved antidepressant efficacy in a biologically-enriched subgroup. This will contribute to the systematic development of more efficacious, personalized treatments for major depression in an effort to reduce its enormous public health burden.

Effect of Nutritional Ketosis on Alcohol Metabolism

Heart Transplantation - Renewal
Heart transplantation (HTx) is a well-established life-saving procedure but is associated with severe complications. Regular monitoring of heart transplant recipients is thus important for the early detection of these complications. Current standard clinical tests, however, rely on frequent invasive procedures including endomyocardial biopsies (EMB) and catheter angiography (Cath). In addition, these standard tests are limited by sampling error, the diffuse nature of HTx complications, and high health care utilization cost, estimated at \>$150,000 per year per patient in the US. To address these limitations, our group has developed a non-invasive multiparametric cardiac MRI, which can quantify abnormal changes in heart tissue and function. Our efforts during the initial period of this study (NIH funded 2014-2019) have focused on the two major complications of HTx: 1) acute cardiac rejection (ACR), the leading cause of death in the first year after heart transplant; and 2) cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV), the greatest risk factor for 5-year mortality beyond the first year after heart transplantation. For these major compilation, our previous cardiac MRI studies have identified new non-invasive cardiac MRI measures that can detect abnormalities of heart tissue and function. In addition, the data was able to show that heart donor and recipient mismatch (age, sex, height, weight, etc.) can cause changes in tissue and function of the transplanted heart.

Quantitative T1rho Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Healthy Subjects
T1rho imaging is a new MRI technique that has strong potential in neuroimaging. This technique does not require exogenous contrast agents and has high spatial resolution. In this study we aim to characterise the normal appearance of T1rho in the brain parenchyma in healthy participants. T1rho values will be measured in normal brain structures.

MR Guidance for Liver and Pancreas
This is a single centre, single arm, prospective feasibility study that aims to see whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a source of image guidance before each radiation treatment fraction is feasible, and also if it may provide information that could potentially be used during the treatment to improve the radiation treatment plan. Patients will have 5 MRIs with each of their RT sessions. If patients' RT treatment will consist of more than 5 fractions, only 5 MRIs will be done with any 5 RT fractions. Patients will be completing a short questionnaire at the end of each MRI. A patient questionnaire will also be completed at the end of the study to assess for patient satisfaction. There will be 30 evaluable patients enrolled to the study.
