The Impact of a 3D Imaging Tool on Reducing Gum Recession During Orthodontic Treatment With Aligners
This study investigates whether using 3D imaging technology (Cone Beam Computed Tomography or CBCT) for orthodontic treatment planning with aligners can reduce the risk of gingival recession in adult patients seeking dental arch expansion. Many aligner treatments involve expanding the dental arches to address issues like crowding and "black corridors," but this can sometimes lead to gum recession. The research compares two groups of patients: one group will have their treatment planned using CBCT, which allows for detailed 3D visualization of the teeth and bone structure, while the other group will follow a conventional 2D treatment plan. The goal is to see if the 3D tool helps prevent gum recession and other periodontal problems like bone thinning, as well as to assess the impact on other factors like upper airway dimensions. The study is a randomized controlled trial with 40 participants. It will track changes in gum health, bone structure, and airway volume over the course of treatment. The researchers aim to find out if the advanced imaging tool provides significant benefits compared to traditional planning methods.

"Augmented Reality-Assisted Miniscrew Placement in Orthodontics: A Clinical Trial"
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of using Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the placement of mini-screws (Temporary Anchorage Devices) during orthodontic treatment. By combining CBCT images with digital dental scans and visualizing them using AR, clinicians can place mini-screws more precisely. The study is a pilot clinical trial involving patients at the Faculty of Dentistry, Al-Azhar University - Assiut Branch.

Orthodontic Treatment in Adolescents With Crowding and Displaced Teeth
The purpose is to fill knowledge gaps identified for orthodontic treatment using a novel study design that has not been implemented in the dental field or in orthodontics. The study design comprises an analysis, where outcomes of two techniques are assessed at several efficacy levels by different methods. Moreover, the project is designed to include a longtime follow-up that is unique in orthodontic treatment. The aim is to compare two techniques with buccally fixed appliance in a multicenter RCT of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years with crowding and tooth displacement. In the intervention group, patients will be treated with a self-ligating bracket system, and in the control group with a conventional bracket system. Outcomes will be assessed from the clinical, patients' and economic perspectives as: * Tooth alignment, function and adverse side effects * Patients' perception of pain, function and quality of life * Cost-effectiveness.
