Effects of Resistance Exercises in Hereditary Sensory-Motor Neuropathy (Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease)

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effects of an 8-week resistance exercise training program on skeletal muscle quality, functional capacity, and quality of life in young individuals aged 15 to 29 years, with and without Hereditary Sensorimotor Polyneuropathy (HSPN). The main questions to answer are: What is the effect of an 8-week resistance exercise training program on skeletal muscle quality, functional capacity, and quality of life in young individuals with and without HSPN? Will the percentage of improvement after the program be greater in participants with HSPN compared to those without, due to greater baseline alterations? Researchers will compare the resistance exercise training program with baseline conditions to determine its effectiveness in improving skeletal muscle quality, functional capacity, and quality of life. Participants will undergo a supervised lower-limb resistance exercise program (3x/week) for 8 weeks. The intervention will include progressive loads from 60% to 80% of 1-Repetition Maximum (1RM), with exercises targeting the major lower limb muscle groups. All participants will complete pre- and post-intervention evaluations, including ultrasound assessment of muscle architecture, functional capacity tests, strength measurements, body composition analysis, and quality of life questionnaires.

Prevalence of Wild-type TTR Cardiac Amyloidosis in Patients With Polyneuropathy of Unknown Cause.

To investigate to what extent chronic axonal length-dependent polyneuropathy (CAP) and/or small-fiber neuropathy (SFN) is part of early non-cardiac manifestations of wild-type TTR cardiac amyloidosis (wtTTR-CA). Consequently, explore whether this could ultimately lead to faster diagnosis and clinical outcome of wild-type TTR cardiac amyloidosis (wtTTR-CA).

A New Cancer Rehabilitation Process for Chemotherapy-Induced Foot Neuropathy Using Orthopedic Devices

The goal of this clinical study is to evaluate a new process for assessing and alleviating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in the feet in patients treated with chemotherapy for early stage breast cancer. It will also compare two orthopedic interventions for symptom relief. The main questions it aims to answer are: Can an orthopedic silicone orthosis reduce chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy symptoms in the feet? How does the effectiveness of the silicone orthosis compare to standard orthopedic treatment with insoles and shoes? Participants will: Use either a silicone orthosis or standard orthopedic treatment Have contact with the clinic for assessments and follow-ups Report their symptoms and functional improvements over time

Prodromal Model of Parkinson's Disease Confined to The Peripheral Nervous System

Description of a method to detect Parkinson's disease or Parkinson's-like disease at an early stage (Prodromal Parkinson's Disease) where damage is still confined to the peripheral nervous system damage. Simultaneous collection of biological material to establish a biobank for use as prognostic biomarkers for the development of Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases in which pathological alpha-synuclein deposits accumulate.
