Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation-Based Lower Extremity Training on Balance, Gait, and Functional Independence in Individuals With Stroke

This study aims to investigate the effects of a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF)-based lower extremity rehabilitation program on balance, gait performance, functional independence, and quality of life in individuals with stroke. Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability and is commonly associated with impairments in motor control, balance, and walking ability, which negatively affect independence and daily functioning. In this randomized controlled trial, participants with stroke will be randomly assigned to either a PNF-based rehabilitation group or a control group receiving conventional physiotherapy. The intervention will focus on lower extremity PNF techniques to improve motor control, balance, and gait performance. Assessments will be conducted at baseline and at the end of the intervention period. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of evidence-based rehabilitation strategies for individuals with stroke.

ICF-Based Effects of PNF and Kinesio Taping on Hand Function in Hemiplegic Stroke

This clinical trial aims to compare the effects of kinesio taping and PNF on hemiplegic hand functions. In addition, the effects of these applications on body structure, activity, and participation will be examined. The main questions it aims to answer are: Do kinesio taping and PNF applications have different effects on hemiplegic hand function? Are kinesio taping and PNF applications effective in body structure, activity, and participation? The researchers will compare the advantages of kinesio taping and PNF applications over each other. Participants: Kinesio taping and/or PNF applications will be applied 3 days a week for 8 weeks. Tests will be performed on the first and last day of the study to evaluate hand functions.

Additional Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation With Otago Exercises on Fall Risk in Diabetes Mellitus Patients

Diabetes Mellitus is considered as one of the most prevalent issues among global population and 50% of all the diabetic patients particularly diabetes type II develop peripheral neuropathy. Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) affects feet and legs first, followed by the hands and arms. This study will involve two groups, one performing the Otago Exercise Program, and the other performing a combined PNF and Otago exercise protocol. This study aims to assess the additional effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation with Otago Exercise Program on Risk of fall which will be assessed by assessing balance, Fear of Fall and Sensory Function. Key outcome measures, including the Berg Balance Scale, Fall Efficacy Scale, Functional Reach test and Semmes Weinstein Monofilament Test will be used in evaluating the effectiveness of the exercise interventions. The participants would be screened through Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument and Berg Balance scale for inclusion criteria, and outcome measures will be assessed by using Berg Balance Scale, Fall efficacy scale, Functional Reach Test and Semmes Weinstein Monofilament testing method on the day of starting the intervention and on the last day of intervention. Intervention will be given for a total of 40-50 minutes per session, 3 sessions/week for consecutive 6 weeks And than the data will be recorded at the end of 6 weeks again.

Effects of PNF Stretching vs Conventional Physical Therapy on the Symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome in Elderly Population.

Restless leg Syndrome (RLS) is a common condition in the elderly population,characterized byan uncontrollable urge to move the leg,often occuring in the evening or at night,which can significantly disturb sleep and daily activities(ADL). Although various type of stretchings found to be effective on the symptoms of RLS,no study has specifically compared the effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation stretching technique versus conventional physical therapy on the symptoms of RLS and related sleep disturbances.This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the effectiveness of PNF stretching compared to conventional physical therapy,on the symptoms of RLS in elderly population.

Effects of Motor Relearning Program Versus Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation on Balance and Gait in Stroke

A randomized control trial will be done on diagnosed stroke patients of chronic stage in DHQ Hospital Mirpur and FF Hospital Rawalpindi physical therapy Department.The purpose of the study is to determine Effects of Motor Relearning Program Versus Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation on Balance and Gait in Stroke . Subjects will complete Berg Balance Scale (BBS). 10-meter walk test for gait speed will be used for measuring walking speed in meters per second over a short distance, Timed-Up-And-Go (TUG) Test will be used for test of functional mobility and gait parameter. All these measures will be taken at baseline, then after 6 weeks of intervention. There will be 4 sessions per week. The control group will receive Group Motor relearning programe while the Study Group (B) will receive Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation(PNF)
