NCT03175718
INPWT on Wound Complications & Clinical Outcomes After Lower Extremity Sarcoma Surgery Preop Radiation Therapy Patients
Project Summary - Aggressive soft tissue cancers are commonly treated with radiation followed by surgery. These wounds have a very high rate of wound complications and infection (30%), resulting in more surgeries, longer hospital stays and complex nursing care. Previous research shows that negative pressure (vacuum) dressings applied to the incision at the end of surgery can reduce these complications. The Investigator and his team across Canada will perform a clinical trial comparing standard dressings to these vacuum dressings. The results of this study have the potential to immediately improve the quality of life of soft tissue cancer patients. It can also decrease the amount of time required in hospital and reduce the cost to the Canadian healthcare system.

The Value of a Risk Prediction Tool (PERSARC) for Effective Treatment Decisions of Soft-tissue Sarcomas Patients
The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the (cost-)effectiveness of a personalised risk assessment tool (PERSARC) to increase patients' knowledge about risks and benefits of treatment options and to reduce decisional conflict in comparison with usual care in high-grade extremity Soft-Tissue Sarcoma-patients. High-grade (2-3) extremity Soft-Tissue Sarcoma patients (\>= 18 years) will either receive standard care (control group) or care with the use of PERSARC; i.e. PERSARC will be used in multidisciplinary tumour boards to guide treatment advice and in consultation in which the oncological/orthopaedic surgeon informs the patient about his/her diagnoses and discusses the benefits and harms of all relevant treatment options (intervention group)

Trial of Single Protein Encapsulated Doxorubicin, SPEDOX-6 in Advanced Malignancies
This is a Phase 1b/IIa dose escalation clinical trial determining the recommended phase II dose of SPEDOX-6 in subjects with advanced, therapy-refractory soft-tissue sarcoma (STS); triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC); Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); cervical cancer; ovarian cancer; KRAS mutant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. These are subjects who have not previously been treated with anthracyclines.

Observational Study, for Quality Assessment, of Sarcoma in European and Latin American Multidisciplinary NETWORK
Post-authorisation, multicentric, observational, retrospective and prospective study to assess quality of care of sarcoma patients in expert and non-expert centers by analysing correlation of quality items and outcomes such as relapse free survival, overall survival, percentage of amputation, etc. Expert pathology peer review will be performed to detect differences between expert and non-expert centers as well as differences in treatment and patient prognosis. Tumor samples of 4 types of sarcoma would also be included in translational research to detect biomarkers and produce preclinical models.
