The Effect of Uterine Manipulator Use During Abdominal Hysterectomy on Postoperative Sexual Function

This prospective, single-center, randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effect of uterine manipulator use during total abdominal hysterectomy on postoperative female sexual function at 3 months, assessed by the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Secondary outcomes include operative time, perioperative hemoglobin change, postoperative pain (VAS), hospital stay duration, and 30-day complications.

Platelet Rich Plasma for Uterine Scar

When vessel wall injury occurs, platelets become activated, releasing more than 30 bioactive proteins, many of which have a fundamental role in hemostasis, inflammation and ultimate wound healing. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a modification of fibrin glue made from autologous blood, is being used to deliver growth factors in high concentration to sites requiring wound healing. PRP is obtained from a sample of patients' blood drawn at the time of treatment. As the rate of cesarean deliveries has been rising, long-term adverse sequelae due to uterine scar defects have been increasing. PRP might be a simple preventive treatment that potentially can reduce morbidity following cesarean deliveries.

Ultrasound Transformation of Myomas During Relugolix-Estradiol-Norethisterone Treatment: The MySaturn Study

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors originating from the uterine muscle, affecting up to 70% of women by their 50s. Risk factors include African descent, nulliparity, obesity, and diabetes. While many fibroids are asymptomatic, 25-50% of affected women experience symptoms like heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure-related issues. Accurate diagnosis and differentiation from rare malignant tumors (e.g., uterine sarcomas) remain challenging, particularly before surgery. Ultrasound is the first-line tool for evaluating fibroids, with specific features (e.g., shape, vascularity) helping distinguish benign from suspicious lesions. The MUSA guidelines standardize ultrasound terminology for myometrial assessments. Current treatment options vary based on symptoms and malignancy risk. Among pharmacologic options, the combination of relugolix, estradiol, and norethisterone has shown efficacy in reducing bleeding and pain in symptomatic fibroids, with a favorable safety profile. However, its impact on fibroid morphology and ultrasound appearance is not yet well understood.

Videos to Aid Decision Making for Fibroid Treatment

Uterine fibroids are a common condition that can cause heavy and/or painful menstrual bleeding. There are many treatment options, but they vary in efficacy, side effects, short-term recovery and long-term implications for future fertility. Patients can have difficulty deciding between these options. In this study, the investigators will randomly assign patients seeking treatment for fibroids to receive an educational video on fibroids and their treatment, versus usual care (no video). The investigators will assess their decisional conflict with and without exposure to the video using a validated survey to see if exposure to the educational video helps them make decisions.

Impact of Single- Versus Double-layer Hysterotomy Closure on Cesarean Niche Development: a Randomized Controlled Trial

The objective of this randomized monocentric study is to assess potential variations in the incidence and severity of isthmocele morbidity among women undergoing cesarean section with either single or double-layer closure of the hysterotomy. Our primary outcome aims to investigate whether there is a reduction in the median duration of intermenstrual spotting in patients belonging to the two respective closure groups
