MGUS/MM Awareness and Genetics Insights Campaign (MAGIC) Screening Study
This study is being done to screen adults for MGUS and to better understand the genetic and immune factors linked to this condition. Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance or MGUS is a condition where an abnormal immune protein is found in the blood. MGUS is not cancer. In some people, it slowly develops into a blood cancer called multiple myeloma. MGUS occurs in people from all backgrounds. Researchers hope to use the information from this study to improve knowledge, early detection, and future care for everyone.

Ohio State University Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis Data Registry and Sample Resource
The investigators are researching patients with diseases of their plasma cells in order to improve their quality and length of life. The investigators have created a database of patient information, blood samples, and bone marrow tissue in order to achieve the following three goals: * Surveillance: The investigators want to track what treatments patients get or don't get, how effective they are, how they feel, what complications they suffer, how long they stay in remission, and how long they live. * Contact: Because myeloma and amyloidosis are rare, less than 700 patients are diagnosed in the state of Ohio each year, patients often feel they don't have accurate information. The investigators want to provide them access to our clinical team (both phone and email consultations, even office visits for patients that can come to Columbus) as well as information regarding informational events pertaining to your disease and local support groups. * Research: Because nearly all myeloma and amyloid patients relapse and treatment is eventually unsuccessful, our focus is to develop more effective treatments that not only prolong life, but cure the disease. Periodically the investigators will inform them about clinical trials studying new drugs or treatment paradigms.

Exploring the Effects of Korean-Style Mediterranean Diet (KORMED) and Physical Activity Measurement in Patients With MGUS/SMM: A Pilot Study
This single-arm pilot study aims to evaluate the feasibility and potential health effects of a Korean-style Mediterranean diet (KORMED) and continuous physical activity measurement in patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) or smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM). The study investigates whether a 12-week KORMED dietary intervention, combined with monitoring of daily step counts using a wearable device, can improve metabolic and inflammatory biomarkers, body composition, gut microbiome diversity, and quality of life. The study seeks to answer the following primary question: Is the KORMED diet feasible and achievable for MGUS/SMM patients, as measured by changes in K-MEDAS adherence scores over 12 weeks? Secondary questions include: 1. Does adherence to KORMED lead to improvements in BMI, inflammatory markers (CRP, IL-6), metabolic indicators (HOMA-IR, FLI), M-protein levels, and gut microbiome diversity? 2. Is increased daily physical activity, measured by step counts, associated with favorable changes in metabolic and clinical parameters? 3. Can combined dietary and activity-based lifestyle modification provide preliminary evidence supporting delayed disease progression in precursor plasma cell disorders?

A Study Comparing a Plant-Based Diet With Supplements and Placebo in People With Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS) or Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (SMM)
The researchers are doing this study to look at how butyrate levels change in participants' stool after they are on a- plant-based diet for at least 12 weeks. All participants will have monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) or smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM). We will compare how the plant-based diet, omega-3 fatty acid and curcumin supplements, and placebo (an inactive substance that looks like the study supplements) affect butyrate levels in participants' stool.

Sleep Apnea in Patients With MGUS and MM
This study involves patients with plasma cell dyscrasia including monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) or multiple myeloma (MM), with and without sleep apnea, who are providing bone marrow specimens. Observational Prospective Research Study In Monoclonal Gammopathies leadINg to Myeloma
The goal of this study is to find markers that may help to predict why some patients who have monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) or smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) that have no signs or symptoms of disease (asymptomatic) develop multiple myeloma, while others do not. Studying markers such as age, level of proteins in blood, percent of abnormal blood cells in the bone marrow, genes in the abnormal blood cells, and bone abnormalities may help researchers to validate clinical and genomic predictors for future use in clinical practice.

Iceland Screens, Treats or Prevents Multiple Myeloma
This study will assess the benefits and harms of screening for monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS). The overall and disease-specific mortality will be compared between screened and not screened participants. All individuals registered as inhabitants in Iceland and born in 1975 or earlier have been invited to participate. The hypothesis is that an early detection of multiple myeloma (MM), through follow-up of MGUS, will improve overall survival and decrease complications associated with diagnosis and treatment of MM.

A Study of a Plant-Based Diet in People With Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS) or Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (SMM)
This study will test whether a plant-based diet is practical (feasible) for overweight people with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) or smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM). The researchers will decide how practical the diet is by looking at how much weight participants lose and how well they are able to stick to the diet. The researchers will also determine whether the diet is effective in preventing multiple myeloma in participants. In addition, they will look at how safe the plant-based diet is for participants, and see if the diet affects participants' quality of life.

Early Detection of Multiple Myeloma to Fight Cancer Disparities: A Screening and Patient Navigation Program
This project will pilot the expansion of the existing Taussig Outreach Program's community outreach and patient navigation model to study the multiple myeloma (MM) screening program. This involves analyzing community reception, screening program methods, reasons patients decided to participate, reasons patients declined participation, and participant views and attitudes. This study also aims to gauge the current and general understanding of MM. This study seeks to recruit participants in the pilot screening program to promote early detection. Participants who have abnormal results will receive patient navigation for further diagnostics and testing.

Promoting Diagnosis and Management of AL in Italy (ProDigALIty)
The investigators plan to establish a dedicated network of Italian Hematologic Departments interconnected with the Amyloidosis Research and Treatment Center in Pavia to: 1. Implement a biomarker-based screening strategy to promote early diagnosis of AL amyloidosis among at-risk patients, including patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, MGUS, and altered free light chain ratio (aFLCR), and patients with smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) 2. Screening for Monoclonal Gammopathy in Individuals Undergoing Physical Examinations Using iMS-LC Assay Technology.
iMS-LC Assay (intact M-protein Screening-Light Chain Assay) is a new technology based on mass spectrometry identification of intact clonal immunoglobulin light chains for the specific detection of M-proteins in peripheral blood. The investigators propose to conduct a prospective, single-center observational study to screen for M-proteins in the peripheral blood of individuals undergoing routine physical examinations using iMS-LC Assay technology. The goals of this observational study are : (1) to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of detecting peripheral blood M-proteins using the iMS-LC Assay method; and (2) to determine the prevalence of MGUS in the population undergoing routine physical examinations based on mass spectrometry screening. Initially, the investigators will collect clinical patient samples continuously and conduct a diagnostic trial of the iMS-LC Assay, using the clinical methods SPEP + SIFE + FLC as the gold standard. Based on the diagnostic performance of the iMS-LC Assay, the investigators will then screen for M-proteins in continuous samples from individuals undergoing routine physical examinations, to further determine the prevalence of MGUS in this population based on mass spectrometry screening.

The China M-protein Screening Project in First-degree Relatives of Myeloma Patient - The CHAPERONE Study
The goal of the China Monoclonal Gammopathy Screening Project in First-degree Relatives of Patients With Multiple Myeloma (CHAPERONE) study is to assess the clinical significance of screening for monoclonal gammopathy (M-protein) in first-degree relatives of patients with multiple myeloma in China population, and establish a prospective cohort of individuals with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), a precursor conditions to multiple myeloma. We will study these patients as a means to identify risk factors for progression to symptomatic multiple myeloma.

Establishment of Genomic, Transcriptomic and Functional Characteristics of Tumor Cells in Hyperinflammatory Hemopathies
Patients with monoclonal gammopathies either benign or malignant may develop inflammatory symptoms such as Schnitzler syndrome. We proposed to name those cases as monoclonal gammopathy of inflammatory significance, or MGIS. The aim of the study is to search for inflammatory pathway that may be activated in case MGIS and to search if the genetic of tumoral cell could explain those activations.
